IOTA Pollen Test Network Records 1,500 TPS

IOTA recently shared the first progress updates to Pollen, the first IOTA 2.0 testnet infrastructure , just one week after its launch. The firm noted that more than 280,000 messages were sent between node operators, of which more than 20,000 were value transactions. During the process of synchronizing a new node with the network, Pollen achieved peak performance of up to 1,500 transactions per second (TPS). The company said:

IOTA added that the confirmation time for sending IOTA tokens on the Pollen network was between 10 and 12 seconds. Sending non-symbolic messages took less than 5 seconds. Commenting on this, the team noted:

This represents a performance improvement of more than 12 times compared to the current main network.

The IOTA Foundation has indicated that it plans to optimize the usability and user experience of the node software. The memory consumption to run a Pollen node is 340 MB on average, with a processor usage of only 3.5%.

Since the launch, all the double expenses recorded by the network have been resolved with the full agreement of all the nodes. It is a great success (early). No more tests, attacks and validations to follow!
