So, here we go. I was thinking about DOGE the other day and I realized something. There are a lot of shitcoins out there. I never really like using that term because honestly, I enjoy reading into the tech of many different coins, even if they are low market cap/price. No matter where you go, it took some serious knowledge of blockchain development to make a coin. Whether they use that power for good or evil makes or breaks the coin.
I was in a shit-grinning mood this evening, so I figure I'd give it a go and learn about this (strangely popular for a coin, I see the ads EVERYWHERE) crypto that's probably capitalizing on this recent surge in DOGE popularity. Well, maybe. It seems likely. Hell, if I could do that I would bust ass and take names and make ALL THE MONEY. I can't blame a brother/sister/enbie sibling for using their insight into a wild west market to make a dime. I would do the same.
So, what in Merlin's Fleshlight is this coin about?
THE "COMMUNITY OWNED COIN OF DOOOOOM!"
So, this idea seems a lot like Banano. I'm not disparaging Banano for their efforts of course, but SHIB is following some similar steps here:
1.) BUILD A BRAND NEW COIN!
2.) BUILD A COMMUNITY AROUND THE COIN!
3.) ....
4.) PROFIT!!
Hell, it worked for Banano, so surely it could work for SHIB. The SHIB fans call themselves:

Interestingly, the project is wrapped up in a lot of really nice philanthropic efforts. They started with ONE QUADRILLION freaking SHIBS, put half of them in locked liquidity at Uniswap and gave Vitalik Buterin. VB THEN used a portion to help COVID-19 relief efforts in India and BURNED 40% of his portion to ensure stability of the coin.
Not only that, they are HUGE fans of the actual Shiba Inu dog breed, and actively encourage folks to donate to rescue them and find them good homes.
Not bad, SHIB folks. Well played.
THE ECOSYSTEM!
SHIB is just a single coin in their enterprise. They also have LEASH, which is used in their Shiba Swap technology and originally served as a rebase. There's only just over 100,000 of these babies. Talk about a change in pace. Finally, they have their BONE Token, which is for community governance in their upcoming DAO project. It fits right in the middle with 250 million tokens.
Take a coin. Make a good cause out of it, and make a new ecosystem for people to use it. Nice.
THE COMMUNITY!
In order to build community, SHIB fans do a lot of art. Some of it is pretty impressive! SHIB has a decent following on Twitter with over 800,000 followers, and it's clear they're blowing up in that direction. Hey! If it gets people onboard with the idea of crypto while doing some good in the world, I'm all for it.
THE... NOT SO HAPPY PART.
I don't mind ETH with the exception of one thing: The gas fees are worse than an eggplant-sized suppository. It is KILLER, and I'm sure anybody familiar with it would agree. You lose a lot of money transferring ETH to different places. Not a fan of that at all.
THE FINAL ASSHOLE WORD.
SHIB has its heart in a good place. It's a what many might traditionally consider a shitcoin, but strangely enough I'm okay with that. So, I jumped on the FOMO bandwagon I bought some. I am the proud owner of over 9 MILLION SHIB. Their numbers are pretty good, all things considered:
It's an up and coming project, and I think about 60 bucks worth of speculation is a healthy and safe amount of speculation.
WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THAT?
Let me tell you a story about a fat asshole who really liked the idea of Bittorrent Token. This big Blazing Dickcheese bought about 4 Million BTT, then got impatient and sold it to invest in something else. If said Living Embodiment of a Burning Taco Bell Anal Sphincter had held on to what amounted to about 500 dollars of BTT at the time, said asshole would have sold at 40,000 DOLLARS. That's a years salary. Fuck me running backwards through a cornfield.
SO, I'm doing a little speculating, despite the RIDICULOUS supply just to see what happens in a years' time or more. Why? Because I can, and I can afford to lose about 60 bucks. Maybe I can get there again during a decent spike. After all, Crypto is rising like a son of a bitch and I don't mind taking a little time to see what happens to 60 bucks. If BTC keeps following the Stock to Flow model as it appears to STILL be doing, I may be walking outta here with some cashola. The tax man will take a bite out of my buttermilk reduced asshole, but I'll still leave with a good portion of money, which will immediately be placed into some blue chip dividend yielding stocks on the traditional market. It won't make me a millionaire I'm sure, there's simply too much of it out there to do that. But I'll gladly redeem myself and walk away with a cool 40k if I can get there again.
I'm not a speculator at heart, but a good cause is a good cause. We shall see what happens in the future.
