How to Run a Ravencoin Node - 2023

Do repost and rate:

Today we will be going over the steps needed for hosting a Ravencoin Node. To view a list of all active nodes click

1: Download the Ravencoin Wallet

Head over to the ravencoin website and download the official wallet. This is needed for this tutorial.

Note: You may get some warnings from Windows, if downloaded from the official sources, this is a safe program.

2: Download the Ravencoin Blockchain

After you download the Ravencoin wallet and get everything setup, the program will begin to download an entire copy of the blockchain. This may take a while.

Step 3: Enable Settings

After everything is all setup and downloaded, we can get to the part where we configure our computer for hosting a node. To do this, go the Wallet menu option, the select options. In this popup menu, go over to the Network tab and select "Map port using UPnP" and "Allow incoming connections"

Step 4: Add Nodes

Head over to cryptoscope.io and go to the network tab. Click the show node icon and copy what you see there. You can also copy what is pasted down below. We will paste these into the config file in the next step.

addnode=143.110.159.82:8767addnode=207.154.199.153:8767addnode=5.39.65.109:8767addnode=165.232.160.144:8767addnode=51.89.40.122:8767addnode=168.119.35.111:8767addnode=[2001:41d0:700:482::]:8767addnode=13.213.225.227:8767addnode=84.16.227.49:8767addnode=46.101.45.251:8767addnode=51.254.241.251:8767addnode=[2a01:4ff:1f0:dc64::1]:8767
Step 5: Edit Config File

Go back the the Options menu that we used in Step 3 (Click "Wallet" then "Options") and at the bottom of the main menu, click the "Open Config File" button. Paste in the add node commands from the previous step.

Note: It is suggested to add a maximum number of connections. To do this, add the "max connections=1000" at the top of the file. You can change 1000 to whatever number your computer can handle.

Save the file, and Exit out of the wallet.

Step 6: Open the Port on Your Rounter

This will vary greatly depending on what type of router you have, I suggest googling how to do this. What you will need to do though is to is go to the firewall, NAT/gaming tab (this might differ depending on brand), and add a connection. Make sure to name it something relevant, such as Raven Node, and for the global port range do 8676-8767, and on base host port enter 8767. Make sure the protocol is selected as TCP/UDP.

Step 7: Finished

You have now gone through all the necessary steps for setting up a ravencoin node. If you need help leave questions in the comments, or follow this video tutorial. While this is not my video, it does contain lots of helpful information.
