Understanding The Model
I have seen numerous posts around the internet addressing Rollercoin and the platform's earning potential. Unfortunately, many seem to only offer a very minimal understanding of how to earn and don't address the most effective ways to earn. You will often come across posts that calculate the amount of time spent, relative to the earnings achieved. However, this is not how you get ahead on Rollercoin. If you truly want to get ahead and build your own "mining empire" then you have to play hard, but not for the immediate reward. Yes, you can most likely push your mining power up to 1 Ph/s but that's not really how you build up your mining power. Playing to earn XP and POINTS is how you really gain a lot of mining power without having to invest much, or anything at all if you so choose. Every season lasts a little over two months and is loaded full of free miners for those who are willing to play their way to unlocking them. Below is one of the free miners I received earning POINTS during the previous season. Dawn-To-Dusk has a hashrate of 64 800 Gh/s and didn't cost me anything to acquire.
There were quite a few free miners I managed to pick up during Season 5 and I am aiming at gaining a lot more this season. Playing a few games to collect some free mining power is basically useless. Once you own miners, you have passive income generated every 10 minutes. The only maintenance on miners is to simply recharge the electricity every five days. As you earn XP, you are able to advance and collect the FREE rewards. Alternatively, purchasing a Season's Pass will unlock additional rewards. This has become a little harder to achieve since the introduction of RST (Rollercoin Season Token) which is an additional token being earned on the platform, more on that later! Below is a screenshot of different levels and the rewards that are attainable to those who qualify.
It's a great way to get your hands on some free miners. However, the best opportunity, in my opinion, is what is currently "The Moon Festival". Unlike the Season Pass, here you are earning points every time you level up in a game. This is generally the most generous of the two opportunities. Remember, you are qualifying for both, as playing games earns both XP and POINTS simultaneously. Some of the thresholds are extremely low, while others are a lot more difficult to unlock. Here you are able to earn free miners, RLT, and other rewards.
I think I earned 15 RLT in the previous season here, as well as a bunch of miners. As you can see above, I am almost complete with my current QUEST and am about to unlock another miner. This miner is named Crimson Bloom and has a hashrate of 40 000 Gh/s with a 1% Bonus.
With the addition of RST, also comes the opportunity to earn RST. There is a daily checklist to earn additional XP, as well as a newly introduced daily checklist for RST. The great thing about earning RST is the Season Store, which only accepts payment in RST. You will be surprised at how quickly you can stack up a decent amount of RST.
I am already sitting on about 1000 RST and I have a very specific plan for these tokens at the end of the season. I intend to buy some miners from the Season Store. Judging by my projections, I should be able to pick up two decent miners. I am aiming at getting my hands on both the Corn Popper and Merry-Go-Round. That's another 440 000 Gh/s! I still have to check if they also offer any bonus power.
Some miners come with additional bonus power, which is actually how most players arrive at the top of the leaderboard. The bonus is applied to your entire mining power. So, if you happened to have 100 Ph/s and you purchased a Boneyard miner you would also receive an additional 4% bonus built-in to the miner. this means your power would jump by an additional 4 Ph/s! In other words, the bonus would provide way more mining power than the actual miner. The more you have, the more you get. If you visit the Leaderboard, you will notice that many top miners have a bonus power that is significantly higher than the power of their miners. By strategically building your mining power and then accumulating miners with very high bonus offerings, players are able to grow their mining power quite significantly. Then there is also the merging of miners to increase hashrate and bonuses. I have however not done the calculations on this since the recent update.
Final Thoughts
So, to summarize, there is a very specific approach that needs to be taken, in order to eventually make the most of Rollercoin. Play hard, so as to gain as many free miners as possible. Furthermore, purchase more miners with the RLT and RST that you earn during the seasons, and thirdly, select miners that incorporate very high bonuses. It's definitely still a grind, but if you are up for the challenge, it can be fun, especially as you begin to see your mining racks full up.
