How I plan and progress in Splinterlands

Time runs faster in the splinter universe and thou it feels that we only completed the last season just recently, we actually have come near to the end of another one and a little less than 5 days remaining only for this season to hit the end time. So, I guess all pf you serious players and giving all your blood and sweat in the battlefield in order to reach your goal in this ongoing season and claim the glory and best of luck to you all. For me, usually I try to reach into the top Champ I league every season but for this ongoing one, I have changed my strategy which I am about to talk below.

Being a full time SPLINTERLANDS player, as usual I play on daily basis and mainly focus on to increase my trophy count by each day and reach Champion I tier by the end of season end. Last season, thou I had successfully ranked up to champ I tier through winning immense brainstorming battles in this top most tier, I got casually thrown out from the top Champ leaderboard by the other OG top players and on last day, I finally accepted my fate and ranked down before the season end, so that I can start playing from Diamond league. I was pretty happy even at the middle of the last season seeing my account making a place in the Champ Leaderboard but as time passes, the nearer we went towards the season end, the more I started to lose against players (or bots) and even after applying multiple strategies, I was losing way more that I was winning and thus within hours, I come down almost near the Champ I threshold level.

Now, I admit I do not have a complete card collection for modern format and I do lack a lot of summoner and monster cards from the untamed set. Not only that, thou I have completed collecting all the Chaos cards, there’s still a lot of cards left to be filled in my account from the Rift mini card-set and also yet to buy the max level Vruz. But, I don’t want to play any excuse of not having all the cards, because there are many matches where I lost against cards that I own already in my account. So, buying more and more cards are not the only way to improve your gameplay in this game but you actually have to learn everyday from others, learning from their play style and lineup combos and get updated with the new killer strategies in order to stay victorious in this wild monster universe.

Definitely, with a half filled modern card collection, it is almost impossible to secure a glorious place in the Champion leaderboard and the amount of cards that I am missing requires a whole lot of money (the Byzantine Kitty summoner alone costs around 3,500$ for max level) which is pretty impossible for me at this moment. So, I am rather focusing on getting all the cards from the newest Chaos set (including the core and all subset cards) while they are still selling for cheap in the market. As I told above, I have successfully bought and upgraded the the core cards from chaos legion edition, which includes all the airdropped cards as well and tight now I am fully focused on getting the Riftwatchers mini set cards and buying them as max levels directly from the market.

With always not having enough budget to fulfil my wishes, I feel for me it’s a good move to invest directly on cards and not packs and doing it for years now. Right now, as the chaos legion packs got all sold out from the official market, players and investors are fully focused on buying the Rift packs and as a result, you can see upgraded or even max level Rift cards selling for cheap at card market right now. I also found multiple good deals on some max level rift cards recently and respecting my funds, I got able to buy some cards at comparatively cheaper than they are selling for right now. But still, buying total 38 max level cards (excluding the airdrop cards) is really expensive, at least for me and it will take a while for me to complete my rift collection. But luckily, I have collected 29 max level Rift cards in my account and got all the legendary rift cards and epic summoners cards (only missing the Death summoner right now) as you can watch from above and also bought most of the important rare and common cards. But there’s still 9 core cards left for me to buy and also those rift airdropped cards, 2 of which already got released.

When it comes to Splinterlands, I always look on long term and don’t hamper my mind with sudden market trends or emotion. In this game, obviously the best way to earn is to get better in all playing formats- ranked, tournaments and brawls and the better you get, the more you earn. When I did not have a large collection of cards, I only used to play ranked and focused on collecting reward chests but as I am upgrading my collection, I am trying to level in tournaments and brawls as well and believe me when I say they are the real source of earning in splinterlands and I am also earning a decent amount of SPS from playing tournaments and brawls. Just recently, I won the first prize in a diamond level tourney and got rewarded with 40 liquid SPS, the prize is not that lucrative but the fact that my account has the potential to secure even a first place really thrilled me well and I am now more motivated and confident to play those bloody tourneys and brawls and hope the day will come when I can become an undefeated champion level player.
