How Blocto Is Making Web3 Mass Adoption a Reality

Despite the promise of blockchain technology, it has yet to break out of the tech space and into the mainstream.

Existing blockchain solutions are complex and challenging to interact with, both from a user and developer standpoint. This makes the technology inaccessible to a large portion of potential users, especially those with little or no technical background.

Furthermore, the Web3 space is quickly becoming saturated with various blockchain protocols competing for attention, making it hard to know which is right for any given use case. On top of this, transacting between blockchains (interoperability) is still a significant challenge, making it difficult to leverage the benefits of different protocols.

As they say, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and this is something that blockchain-based Web3 platform Blocto is taking to heart.

Blocto: Unlocking the keys to mass adoption

Blocto is a cross-chain wallet that has taken on the mission of helping to onboard the next billion users to the Web3 ecosystem. To make this possible, the startup has a two-pronged approach: to improve the user experience and to deliver chain-agnostic solutions to the market.

With a strong track record for innovation and a clear passion for bringing Web3 technology to the masses, Blocto is well-equipped to deliver on its promise.

For those unfamiliar with the project, Blocto operates atop one of the most powerful blockchains, Aptos (the recently revived Meta project). Aptos currently serves 1.6 million users across the globe, and Blocto ranks within the top three projects on the network.

Just last week, Blocto stood out as an industry leader during their BloctoCamp event during Taipei Blockchain Week, which it co-hosted with the Aptos team. During the event, experts were gathered to explore and discuss recent Web3 trends and advancements. Throughout these discussions, it became obvious that the key to accelerating adoption is having a wallet that is simple to use and readily accessible.

After all, most users are accustomed to traditional user interfaces and are likely to avoid anything they don’t understand. Moreover, it’s doubtful that the average person understands which chain they are using, and will be averse to going through lengthy onboarding procedures. As such, simplifying the experience is crucial for shortening the learning curve.

“One key factor in user growth is user experience…something that [the team] has been valuing a lot since day one of Blocto,” said Blocto co-founder and CEO Hsuan Lee.

This is made clear by the fact that Blocto wallet customers can start using the platform in a user-friendly way without having to deal with problematic seed words or keys. Users may sign up for the chain-agnostic wallet with ease thanks to a quick 30-second email login process, which is something that makes Blocto unique in the space.

Furthemore, Blocto recently held a Bloctopian Nite event, which was co-hosted with Flow. The event saw the collaboration of Web2 and Web3 professionals in Taipei as the community worked together to increase blockchain awareness, form new relationships, and drive collaborations — all of which are undoubtedly key catalysts for Web3 mass adoption.

Building an approachable Web3 ecosystem

Alongside its wallet, Blocto has made sure to create a robust ecosystem that helps drive mass adoption in the Web3 space. The startup is providing a $3 million Aptos ecosystem fund to support mass adoption, as well as hosting various events and recognizable IPs that promote a more approachable blockchain.

Blocto has also partnered with leading brands, such as MotoGP and Yahoo Taiwan to create the MotoGP Ignition Marketplace and Yahoo NFT Store respectively. Not to mention, the startup also recently joined forces with Flow, an ecosystem featuring popular IPs such as NBA Top Shot.

Education as the cornerstone of adoption

While user experience and platform appeal are essential to onboarding users, they may not be enough without the proper education. That is why Blocto has been investing in tangible educational efforts by hosting both online and in-person events with a focus on its mission to advance blockchain’s reach, while empowering ecosystem development.

Over the coming months, it will be interesting to see how startups like Blocto continue to contribute to the development of blockchain at large. Sooner or later, we will start seeing real-world use cases that could potentially revolutionize the way we interact with each other and our environment. Until then, Blocto will continue to lead the charge in its mission of advancing Web3 adoption.
