Hello and welcome,
Mike here,
I'd like to point out, my post would benefit artists that don't really know about Crypto, NTF, or Publish0x.
If you do like the idea of something you see here PLEASE! research carefully, Understand how to keep your info safe.
Coming from outside of PUBLISH0X ? This FAQ page will enlighten you.
(I'm currently still learning about these sites and as such, I may have not mentioned certain features - this is not to persuade or discourage, but just show you it exsists, because untill reecently I didn't know !)
...Lets Begin...
NFT art?
Digital art that is attached to a Token - a Non Fungible Token. I understand these tokens to be unique, not interchangeable, can't be duplicated. Learn more on wikipedia
The data of buying and selling these tokens, ownership, are listed on "blockchains", an open list that once confirmed cannot be altered and can be accessed by anyone, Learn more from builtin.com
Artbasel raises some pretty good points about blockchains, security, and importance of authenticity.
- An artist can "mint" an NFT, namely an ERC721 Token, this unique token is attached to, and represents your digital Art.
- Then you list it for sale or auction on marketplaces for NFT art.
- To buy or sell one would typically use the Cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH)
- NFTs are Unique and hold a record of ownership proving authenticity.
.
...Onto The List...
Opensea
Open market place for NFT assets, art, collectibles, game assets.
Rarible
Looks to encourage the creation of arts, interlinked with OPENSEA marketplace, keep royalties on further sales.
niftygateway
Collabs with established artists to auction an exclusive drop. A one of a kind exclusive event. I've seen people spend big money on here .
Makersplace
Auction site for NFT arts, it looks like artists would have to be in contact with them to organise submission
This Article on medium.com can explain better.
Async art
An interesting variation where you can purchase the “master” and then additional “layers” that edit the look of the “master”, the first site I have felt focuses on viewing and using the art, and not just another way to create and trade assets for monetary value.
Super rare
The look of this site embodies the trend of collecting the art for the value all the stats displayed all point to the money and collections.
Known origin
Artists apply to join, and the arts are displayed on known origin market place.
I really didn’t do these websites justice, check them yourself, take a more detailed look.
With art intrinsically linked to our technology it seems to hold many new opportunities now and well into the future.
I really hope I’ve given another artist a nice welcome and a little inspiration.
I’m going back to my research,
I wish you all well.
Many thanks –
Mike.
