Healthcare and Blockchain

Well folks it's 2021, and although it's a new beginning and we do hope that things change pretty fast for goodness sake. No one wishes to remember the previous year, yet it is a sore spot in our collective memory. One major reason apart from other reasons no doubt was the dismal failure of the healthcare system to cater the sudden rise of unexpected emergencies. In adequate beds, inadequate staff. The doctors and nurses overstrained since the influx of patients was so large. Could this scenario be a bit different than what it was, had a sucessful blockchain system been implemented a few years earlier. Let's see what a sucessful blockchain system in healthcare can do to the entire public healthcare as a whole.

A) A sucessful Dapp could be set up world over to track the movement of contagious diseases in every country. The inflow and outflow being monitored in real - time. Folks participating in running the app as well as monitoring it this includes the policymakers, health experts and the citizens including legal experts could either stake or earn from running the app like a node. This will ensure transparency of data as all stake holders are providing and receiving value without any additional cost. Contagious spread thus could be prevented as soon as a certain outbreak occurs making it a local phenomena, which could be located, tracked and controlled. Thus ensuring a continued check on the diseases would bring valuable data to the health experts improving our knowledge of the spread and other vital information about the biological agents thus involved.

B) Decentralized Autonomous Organizations or DAO could be implemented in each and every hospital especially the major ones and could be connected to other hospitals and clinics in smaller areas. Each DAO would implement a certain limit on it's inner workings, ensuring stability and cooperation amongst all the teams of health experts. The data contained in each DAO would be accessible to the patient allotted to that specific DAO, much like a wallet each patient will have his/her own health account set up in which his/her reports and all the discussions done by the team of doctors is available. This data is to be treated as personal or private property of the patient and could be staked by the patient in order to recieve monthly benefits that might include regular blood checkups, whole body checkup, CT scans etc. The doctors or the health experts would in turn benefit from the data which would be shared with them in a manner protecting the privacy of the patient involved. Thus a two way participatory  system from both sides could be set up for both the parties concerned and result in improved public healthcare.

C) Both the Dapp and DAO could be improved by adding a third cluster of artificial intelligence and deep learning making the entire system more robust and resilient. For example if a certain health policy fails a new fall back policy could be initiated by feeding the data of the failures to the artificial network, which in turn will propose the best means available to recuprate with the losses of the previous policy with minimal damage. Such intelligent systems are already used in forecasting and analytics etc. Connecting them to the healthcare industry and the blockchain will lead to massive upgrading in terms of quality of service provided and recieved from the experts to the patients.

Thus we see in brief how blockchain could evolve the healthcare to the next level and prevent massive outbreaks of contagious diseases, also improving the quality of services provided overall reducing the disparity between various sections of the global community as a whole.
