As someone who has been a BRAVE Browser user since 2019, I have a soft spot for BAT. The dev team behind BAT has done an incredible job with the browser and the rewards. I was one who thought when the COVID pandemic came and hit advertising as hard as it had that with the response of Brave that maybe they were not going to make it. By cutting the rewards they really have and over the last few weeks, I have noticed more and more ads appearing which is fantastic.
However, it only made sense that BAT would be the next one cycled out and I would even argue that ETH should really be one that is not cycled out with all the tokens operating on the Eth blockchain but that's a different story for a different time. Given that BAT was on it way out and it was heavily hinted that a DeFi token would be taking its place I hoped that it would turn out to be Harvest Finances FARM.
I have written about Harvest Finance before and I have been amazed by the results. I put in roughly 98 DAI into the stable coin pool and before I added in additional DAI I had in another wallet I have already made almost 3 DAI in just a little over 6 weeks in a year I would make give or take 26 DAI for a whopping 26% APY. Now that has since changed and it is lower however an 8% plus yield is no laughing matter. That does not include the token Harvest Finance distributes FARM.
Harvest also has a buyback policy in place that supports the price of FARM. 70% of the income is distributed to the liquidity pools and the last 30% goes back to buying FARM and then distributing that FARM to people who stake their FARM tokens in the FARM pool. Right now the APY is at over 200% but that's rather high. For as long as I have watched it has maintained a level above 100% and mostly in the 150-175% range! They really reward their people for sticking with them!
As a DeFi newbie FARM has been a huge lifesaver for me as they take you directly to where you need to get the tokens you need to stake. The idea of more and more people being exposed to Harvest Finance is amazing! Harvest takes care of all the farm yielding for you and while I have had the money staked on Harvest they have had put my DAI in Compound, IDLE and now currently BSG. All of these changes are of no charge to me and are constantly updating as the pools themselves update and evolve!
While BAT will always be the first Altcoin I dealt with FARM is a forward facing future of DeFi Altcoin I am happy to be able to add to my wallet!
