In the beginning I was number 363,000 something and after hearing the wallets would be rolled out for all users by the end of March I was pretty suspicious…. Well all be damned if they didn’t pull it
Robinhood in the last couple of weeks has added over 350,000 users to its wallet network! I am beyond pumped by this as it allows me to finally access some Bitcoin and ETH I had bought years ago when they first were added to the platform!
As you can see here the buttons have been added and they have kept with the easy to use and simple design! When you are going to send or receive it does say in the screen to make sure you are only sending or receiving the exactly same crypto! The process was easy enough as well as they did need your photo ID again but that’s required to open up a brokerage account so it wasn’t a big deal to me. They did make me set though a second factor authorization which I should have already had on my account but just never got around to it.
Once the steps are done you are given access to the Beta Wallets! Yes they still are in Beta mode but they are onboarding people to make sure the system can handle it! This does mean their are limits still but they are not to bad given the general audience of Robinhood. The limits are 10 crypto transactions or $3,000 worth of crypto in a 24-hour period. Also if you are using a Robinhood Instant account (I use that one) after a purchase it will be 5 days before you can send it. This is due to brokerage tax laws that honestly need to be updated and replaced. It’s the same reason in theory it take “3 days” to buy and sell a stock!
I see this as more weight behind the idea the Robinhood is going crypto first in its global moves. This is a huge step as many people though Robinhood was never going to let people get their crypto off their system but here they are letting you! With this and hopefully some clearer regulation we could soon see new coins on the Robinhood exchange!
