In a time of mass polarisation, one thing we all share is the huge learning curve ahead of us in order to fully grasp crypto currencies and decentralisation. Trying to understand digital currencies, NFTs, tokens and now even digital contracts can take a fair bit of time. The reality is though, the enthusiasm for blockchain technology is growing exponentially.

Most famously, Elon Musk showed strong support for the cryptocurrency coin Dogecoin over other major crypto giants like Bitcoin, in turn influencing market prices for the Dogecoin for some time. Musicians Snoop Dogg and Grimes have bursted into the NFT market with some pretty interesting art and now we may very well see something emerge from the ever trending comedy podcast host Joe Rogan. Rumor has it Rogan may be looking to start up his own coin. Comedian and JRE guest Tim Dillon floated the idea to Rogan on his podcast this week, saying he should make his own coin 'Rogan Coin'. Rogan who initially took the suggestion as a joke, quickly warmed to the idea. Rogan admittedly is very new to the concepts of blockchain technology, although he now owns his very own Beeple NFT… For those unfamiliar, Beeple is a famous digital artist famously sold one of his digital pieces as an NFT for $69 Million. Rogan appeared to be see some value in own his own coin after Tim Dillon explained that his digital coin/token may be an avenue for ticket sales, merch or subscription services to support his popular podcast and comedy.

Dillon and Rogan, who clash on many current controversial topics both agree that blockchain technology and decentralisation may be a faster way to connect people to products, as well as a potential a way to spread wealth to people around the globe. Dillon pointed out there would be many enthusiastic crypto currency professionals in their media circles who could put these wheels in motion.

The idea, only suggested this week has already gained quite a bit of traction on social media with many enthusiastic listeners, influencers and crypto moguls already offering to buy the so called 'Rogan Coin'. Time will tell if this coin gains any real traction, although if viewership of the JRE podcast is any reflection of financial support, this idea could be a bit of a game changer in the current crypto market.. Maybe a better name for his coin could be 'Rogue Coin'..
