Ignite the Rebellion!
The release of the Rebellion Set is getting closer and closer: only a little more and SPLINTERLANDS matchmaking, mostly in the Modern format, will be disrupted and revamped as new cards arrive.
Among dual-element Summoners and new game mechanics, with the introduction of new abilities for both creatures and Summoners, some of which will allow us to pick the bonus to be applied to our creatures - or the malus to be inflicted on our opponent's - after viewing the team deployed by our opponent, I really think we are going to see a lot happening and the balance we are used to will probably be altered at the very least, if not overthrown.
As I have already written in another post, personally I won't be able, especially at the beginning, to get my hands on many of the cards available in the new set: indeed, just to be able to buy some of them would be a major achievement...
In fact, my entire focus over the past few months has been on the Chaos Legion set and the Rewards set cards, with the goal of strengthening my collection as much as possible, in order to prepare it to compete in a League, the Gold League, which in the end turned out to be beyond my reach - among the many changes made to the game over the past 2 years, the requirement to have thousands and thousands of staked SPS turned out to be, at least for me, a major blow, forcing me to greatly scale back my ambitions... at least for the time being
Because honestly speaking, I am not a quitter and, underneath, I still have the dream to, sooner or later, play consistently in the Gold League.
And anything that disrupts the balance of the game can work to my advantage.
Indeed, if, in the current state, I cannot hope to change much about my situation, than what I most need, perhaps, is exactly for the current state to be shaken up and changed, providing new opportunities, breaking previous balances, and making possibilities blossom where before there was only a cold monotony... I need a REBELLION
And thus the Rebellion set could offer me, in ways I still do not even conceive, the means to make the leap in quality that I have been pursuing for so long.
Now what I most need are more SPS, many more SPS: doubling them would hardly be enough, maybe even tripling them would be nearly enough....
I would need something like about $100 more SPS to add to the ones I already have: an amount that, under normal circumstances, would take me a few more years to set aside... but that's only if things don't change.
Backed by the experience I'm slowly accumulating here on Hive, with the release of the Rebellion set I will be more alert than ever and will try to seize any slightest opportunity that might allow me to quickly increase the value of my collection on Splinterlands: trying to spot some good bargains right off the bat will be essential, but being able to let go of a few cards I'm emotionally attached to could also be vital, should their value seem overrated.
From this point of view Serfdom & Sorcery are teaching me a lot, and if I can apply the same mindset to future developments of Splinterlands, perhaps even here I will finally be able to achieve my goals.

Scatena la Ribellione!
L'uscita del Set Rebellion e sempre piu vicina: ancora poco ed il matchmaking di Splinterlands, soprattutto nel formato Modern, sara sconvolto e rinnovato dall'arrivo delle nuove carte.
Tra Evocatori dual-element e nuove meccaniche di gioco, con l'introduzione di nuove abilita sia per le creature che per gli Evocatori, alcuni dei quali consentiranno di selezionare il bonus da applicare alle nostre creature - o il malus da infierire a quelle avversarie - dopo aver preso visione del team schierato dal nostro avversario, penso proprio che ne vedremo delle belle e che gli equilibri a cui siamo abituati saranno probabilmente quantomeno alterati, se non proprio rovesciati.
Come ho gia scritto in un altro post, personalmente non saro in grado, soprattutto all'inizio, di mettere le mani su molte carte del nuovo set: anzi, gia solo poterne acquistare qualcuna sarebbe un risultato non da poco...
Le mie attenzioni, in questi mesi, sono infatti state interamente concentrate sul set Chaos Legion e sulle carte del set Rewards, con l'obiettivo di rafforzare quanto piu possibile la mia collezione, in modo da prepararla ad affrontare una Lega, quella Oro, che nei fatti si alla fine rivelata al di fuori della mia portata - fra le tante modifiche apportate al gioco nel corso degli ultimi 2 anni, la richiesta di avere migliaia e migliaia di SPS in stake si e rivelata, almeno per me, il colpo di grazia, costringendomi a ridimensionare fortemente le mie ambizioni... almeno per il momento
Perche onestamente non sono uno che si arrende e, sotto sotto, covo ancora il sogno di poter, prima o poi, giocare stabilmente nella Lega Oro.
E tutto cio che sconvolge gli equilibri del gioco puo giocare a mio vantaggio.
Se, infatti, allo stato attuale non posso sperare di cambiare molto della mia situazione, allora cio che piu mi occorre, forse, e proprio che lo stato attuale venga scosso e modificato, offrendo nuove opportunita, rompendo i precedenti equilibri e facendo sbocciare possibilita laddove prima c'era soltanto una fredda monotonia... mi occorre una RIBELLIONE
E allora il set Rebellion potrebbe offrirmi, in modo che ancora nemmeno concepisco, i mezzi per fare il salto di qualita che ormai da cosi tanto tempo sto inseguendo.
Adesso cio che piu di tutto mi occorre sono piu SPS, molti piu SPS: raddoppiarli a stento basterebbe, forse anche triplicarli sarebbe quasi poco...
Avrei bisogno di qualcosa come circa 100 dollari di SPS in piu da aggiungere a quelli che gia possiedo: una cifra quindi che, in condizioni normali, impiegherei qualche altro anno a mettere da parte... ma questo solo che le cose non cambiano.
Forte della esperienza che sto piano piano accumulando qui su Hive, con il rilascio del set Rebellion saro vigile piu che mai e cerchero di cogliere ogni minima occasione che possa consentirmi di aumentare velocemente il valore della mia collezione su Splinterlands: cercare di individuare qualche buon affare subito all'inizio sara essenziale, ma anche saper lasciare andare qualche carta a cui sono affezionato potrebbe essere vitale, se il suo valore dovesse sembrarmi sopravvalutato.
Da questo punto di vista Serfdom & Sorcery mi stanno insegnando molto e se riusciro ad applicare la stessa mentalita ai futuri sviluppi di Splinterlands, forse anche qui riusciro finalmente a raggiungere gli obiettivi che mi sono prefissato.
