DOGECoin and Robinhood shutdowns - why I'm HODLing and what I think happens next

DOGECoin. Yes, I am a holder. One of my better decisions actually. Is it too late to get in? That's a risky question I'll leave up to you, but as far as me, I'm staying in. That's what my gut says. With Robinhood, it's not my favorite either, but it was one of the first places I had the chance to buy. I experienced previous similar issues with Robinhood in other run-ups. Here's what I think happens next.

One - The issues won't last as long. Clearly, the first time around Robinhood must have put in some measures for if and when a run like this took place. Be it DOGE, AMC, Gamestonk, or whatever. Maybe more servers, better algorithms, etc. My guess is the duration and impacts will be lessened.

Two - There are reasons to believe that DOGE is being held, perhaps in a very large quantity by Robinhood. If that's true, they could rug-pull, but I would see them as more likely to keep pumping, albeit in coming weeks more slowly. It helps their own business but breeds loyal and vested customers too. It's almost like it's the secret stock of Robinhood.

Three - There is huge momentum, and seemingly many willing to HODL. That's the idea. But, you would think at some point there could be a dip and cool off period. Momentum is a funny thing though.

Four - $1 is clearly within sight. The only question is how soon, but you should take the "how soon" part with a longer view than just a couple days in my opinion. I think the Robinhood signal is a slowdown signal, that's kind of how it went last time. And, if I am on the right track with something on #2 above, then Robinhood has to slow the price some as right now, they are paying all the Non-Hodlers. That's expensive. DOGE cooled off a little after the last highs and when it a had similar crazy run up, maybe it will now too. But, $1 is well within reach.

Five - Remember that a lot of people are buying and selling for the first time and are experiencing dips and rises. Some panic selling probably, and some FOMO buying. That means there's probably a ton of canceled orders, limit buys, and limit sells being moved in and out and trying to be processed. So, it's possible that servers are just overwhelmed. Lets the orders get figured out a bit. I'll say this, compared to the earlier issues, maybe because I just HODL'ed, the interface seemed fine when I wanted to have a look.

Six - This is heading in the direction of mass adoption, maybe, at least for now. Thus, from here, what happens next might be tough to say, both with respect to price, culture, and Robinhood. Elon is coming on Saturday Night Live. Sports teams are on board. Celebrities. The idea of tipping in DOGECoin seems relevant. The memes are endless. Shiba Inu's are pretty neat. Everything seems in place.

Maybe the only question is - will you HODL?

Regulation and Society adoption
