DOGE Developers Publish Roadmap for the First Time in Token’s History

Billy Markus, founder of meme token Dogecoin (DOGE), recently released a roadmap via Twitter. Published by the Dogecoin Foundation. The announcement read:

“…for the first time in 8 years, #dogecoin has a roadmap that isn’t a drawing of a road with the word “wow”.”

This is the first of its kind in the history of DOGE since it debuted back in 2013. The digital currency launched as a joke over the more prominent Bitcoin (BTC). In addition, DOGE never had a roadmap because people hitherto approached it with levity. However, that has now changed.

As evidenced in its roadmap, Dogecoin’s developers have lofty plans for the meme token. For instance, the crypto is to remain decentralized and directed by “shepherds rather than rulers.” Furthermore, the plan also entails DOGE eventually transitioning into a universal legal tender that covers even the most mundane payments. In the roadmap, Dogecoin developers even went as far as likening the coin to the ancient Denarius currency of the Roman Empire. The currency was universally accepted throughout the Empire during that era.

In a bid to facilitate this universal adoption, the roadmap reveals new DOGE-based initiatives. In addition, the Dogecoin website will also undergo a complete overhaul to accommodate all the changes.
