Decentralized Knowledge: Diversify Your News Feed

Do repost and rate:

If there's one concept the crypto community has adopted wholeheartedly it's diversification. I doubt many people are reading this who only have one digital wallet (Metamask, Hirowallet, Trustwallet, etc); you may primarily use one, but you probably have a few. Likewise, there aren't many people who stick to just one exchange, most of us have our holdings spread around. Just like our holdings themselves; who here owns one cryptocurrency and only one cryptocurrency and has no plans to ever buy more? If you exist, you are rare indeed.

Much like our financial holdings are diversified, the intake of our knowledge should not come from a single source. As vivid and full of information as PUBLISH0X is, it never hurts to grab information from a few other sources, granted those sources are trustworthy places.

Here is a list of sources I've used across the web to gain knowledge deep and wide.

Bitcoin.com

An obvious contender with a name like that, and one of the older sites around, Bitcoin.com is a solid, reliable place to hear news on the crypto community. They have an impressive collection of news and articles to help you go from novice to knowledgeable. With a section just for press releases, you can be up to date on all the info straight from the horse's mouth, and get your op-eds, featured articles, and trending news in a convenient feed.

Bitcoin.com offers more than just news, with their own wallet launched in 2017 and an exchange with plenty of coins for you to peruse.

What makes Bitcoin.com slightly more intriguing than most is that it was registered in 2008, a year before Nakamoto launched the Bitcoin Network. And a possible reason some people may have to avoid it is due to it being owned by Roger Ver. It's not like he dictates its content, but some people may see it that way.

The Daily Hodl

With a classic, WordPress blog kind of feel, The Daily Hodl provides a no-nonsense presentation of a plethora of crypto news. With a tab just for beginners to explain what the heck bitcoin and cryptocurrencies even are, to in-depth industry analysis, The Daily Hodl boasts a lot of information to sift through.

Whereas some sites bombard you with data sets and graphs and numbers and quips and ads, The Daily Hodl is pleasantly uncluttered. It has few ads, and you're only going to see graphs if they pertain directly to what you're reading. Some might find it a bit dense in text, but for those looking to gain knowledge, The Daily Hodl is a library of relevant content.

Coindesk.com

Professionalism at its finest, Coindesk.com is as legit as you'll get. The data-rich site will have you processing information hours after you close your laptop. In-depth market data on the top 50 coins, a podcast, a nigh constant Livestream, global correspondents, contributors at all the large crypto industry events, and interviews with industry leaders all combine to make this site a news leader.

Coindesk.com is highly organized, with sections easily navigable and full of current articles. There's even a 'Layer 2' protocol for the site, where you can find articles and analyses that go EVEN deeper, EVEN more niche than what's on the primary site. Add this site to your morning news read-through, and you'll be one of the most informed people on crypto around.

Coinmarketcap.com

Remember when I said some websites can bombard you with data and graphs and stuff? There is no one better at bombardment than Coinmarketcap.com. Can you say information overload? It may take a few minutes for you to understand everything you're looking at on Coinmarketcap.com, but once you do, you'll have absolutely everything you need to become a savant on crypto and whatever coin you're most interested in.

Data, data, and more data. You may not even discover all the cool things you can do on Coinmarketcap.com for a while. I suggest clicking on all the buttons and links to see what happens. You'll be rewarded for your efforts, trust me. Coinmarketcap.com also lists just about every cryptocurrency in existence; if they don't list it, you can rest assured it's probably not legit crypto.

CryptoPanic.com

Though the point of this article is to diversify your news feed, if you find it just too much of a drag to click around to different sites or to remember all these different site names, then I have a gift for you. Cryptopanic.com. While their presentation may not be the prettiest, and much like Coinmarketcap.com it may take you a little bit to understand everything you're looking at, Cryptopanic.com is as close to a one-stop-shop as you're going to get. Cryptopanic.com is a news aggregator site, so they don't produce anything themselves. They merely scour the internet for the most popular, relevant, informative content on the crypto community, then they display it for you to browse through. Publish0x is listed on there often, as well as every site I just mentioned above. It's a bit like a rudimentary Reddit board, but if you want to have all your knowledge start in one place and branch out from there, you could do worse than Cryptopanic.com.

Publish0x.com

Of course, this list isn't complete without mentioning the site that allowed me to write it in the first place! Publish0x is a burgeoning community of crypto passionates who simply want to share their knowledge with others. What's better than that?

You can choose to have a broad, wide selection of reading by picking the top articles in trending or by clicking on a few articles from each section. Or, if deeper, more niche knowledge is what you're looking for, pick your preferred blockchain and coin from the top of the homepage and dive deep into everything there is to know. Think you know all there is to know about Polkadot? Once you visit the Polkadot tab, you will think again.

What sites do you use and trust the most? Where do you go on the internet to gain the most information?

Thanks for reading, see you next time.
