DAI was one of my favourite coins to obtain on Publish0x. Thankfully, it was the main tipping token, so I could enjoy the majority of my tips in DAI, as it was my favourite.
In this post, I'll try to explain why I'll miss DAI on Publish0x. And if there's hope it will ever come back!

Recently, DAI got replaced by ETH as the major tipping token. And while that was appreciated with a lot of applause from the audience, a select few people still miss DAI. Here's why I miss it.
- DAI is a stablecoin: This sounds like a weird reason, but one of my favourite features of it is that it retains it's price in any situation. In the March crash, I was properly hedged in DAI on all my crypto assets, which saved my ass. Sure, I had some in USDT and tokenised gold, but the majority was in DAI.
- It's better than USDT: Tether is a scam, and you know it. The company behind Tether has refused multiple audit requests, and keeps on printing more and more tether without having any backing. DAI on the other hand locks up a corresponding amount of ETH for every DAI coin created. This makes it a more trust worthy version of a digital dollar.
- You can use it to buy the other tokens: On IDEX, DAI can be exchanged to any other ERC-20 based token without hassles. I always enjoyed turning my DAI to ETH, knowing fully well that I would get the same amount every time I tried.
This post kind of sounds like something you say at a funeral (??), but in a sense, this IS DAI's funeral. We may never get tipped in it again.
Or would we???
There's a probability. Because Dan Bainbridge, the owner of Publish0x, has said that there is a possibility DAI returns to PUBLISH0X in the future. That would be a sweet deal, and one I'll be glad to partake in.
It would be nice if Publish0x could have an option to convert other tokens to DAI. Only time would tell if we get such an option.
