CC0, Tribute Collections, and NFT Passes Dominate Rankings

This week’s NFT spotlight features a varied selection of approaches and ideologies when it comes to project structure, including NFT passes, a tribute collection, and a Creative Commons 0 project. With the rising popularity of NFTs in both crypto and mainstream spaces, the motivation and execution of an NFT project have become extremely important.

Check out this week’s NFT Spotlight to find out how these three projects did it. Chain Runners is a collection of 10.000 Creative Commons 0 NFTs that is already spawning numerous derivatives. JRNY NFT Club is a revolutionary NFT pass giving holders access to several subsequent collections and exclusive video content. Last but not least, we have Noundles, a mixed tribute collection taking the best parts of the Nouns and Doodles projects and combining them into a single NFT.

Chain Runners – unleashing the CC0 creative power

Chain Runners is a collection of 10.000 Ethereum-based profile picture NFTs living in Mega City. And when we say Ethereum-based, we really mean it. Impressively, all artwork and files needed when generating these NFTs are stored entirely on-chain—no IFPS or cloud storage, simply the blockchain.

The main drive behind the Chain Runners project was to create a flawless collection in terms of code that can serve as the foundation for numerous subsequent derivatives. To do that, the founding team has made all Chain Runners NFTs and assets part of a Creative Commons 0 agreement or CC0. This allows NFT owners to utilize all assets pertaining to their tokens in any way they like. Be it for the creation of subsequent derivative collections, merchandising purposes, or inspiration for future art.

Another interesting aspect of the Chain Runners project is that it does not have a dedicated roadmap. According to the team, the main goal with this collection was to create a completely on-chain project, which could then evolve on its own thanks to its community. So far, this tactic seems to be working, as Chain Runners has attracted thousands of Discord members. Not to mention that derivative collections like Drawn Runners and Running the Chain are already available on secondary marketplaces.

Chain Runners officially launched on November 7th, and since then, the collection has garnered a steady flow of attention and trading volume. Since its launch, Chain Runners has attracted more than 3000 unique wallets, generating upwards of $2.1 million in trading volume. At the time of writing, the floor price for a Chain Runner NFT is a whopping 1.56 ETH, or around $6585. To find out more about Chain Runners and their CC0 power, check out the links below.

A curious titbit before you move on, it seems like DJ Marshmello is an avid Chain Runner fan. He currently owns three Chain Runner NFTs, purchased several hours ago. The CC0 agreement means that a future Marshmello track may include the Chain Runners art.

JRNY NFT Club – the ultimate NFT passes

JRNY NFT Club is a collection that officially launched on November 22nd. The public mint happened through a Dutch auction with a starting price of 3 ETH. While the pricing might seem a little on the heavy side for a collection that’s just starting out, the idea behind JRNY NFT Club has a lot to do with that.

Created by TonySparkOG, this NFT passes collection aims to serve as a gateway to several other NFT drops as well as grant access to exclusive content. In this sense, the solid mint price is somewhat expected. According to the official website, there are currently two subsequent collections in the works by the JRNY NFT Club team. Collectors who purchase the JRNY NFT Club passes will have access to mint one free NFT from each of the subsequent collections. In this sense, NFT passes from this first mint also include the price of the following 2 collections.

Aside from subsequent NFTs, the JRNY NFT Club token also gives holders access to an exclusive Discord channel. The collection already has more than 68.700 members on Discord. However, only members with an NFT pass in their wallets can access the locked channel. The ClubHouse offers members access to exclusive videos by TonySparkOG, who is already a prominent crypto YouTuber.

In addition to the subsequent collections, JRNY NFT Club has an extensive roadmap. It includes a Metaverse location for the club, exclusive partnerships with other collections, a community grant fund, and an NFT launchpad.

At the time of writing, the floor price for an NFT pass is an impressive 2.4 ETH, or about $10.179. This is a steep entry point. However, looking at the huge variety of utility and perks associated with these NFTs, it might be considered a bargain. To learn more about the JRNY NFT passes, check out the links below.

Noundles – paying tribute to Noun DAO and Doodles

Noundles is a collection of 8888 NFTs based on the principles of the Nouns collection, with a pinch of the landmark designs of Doodles NFTs. In a sense, Noundles aims to pay tribute to both of these collections by combining their best traits.

Building on the principles of decentralized autonomous organizations, Noundles holders get access to a staking mechanism for their NFTs. Each staked Noundles NFT earns the owner 4 RAINBOW tokens daily. These tokens are then used to participate in the Noundle Grail.

Noundle Grail is the second fundamental aspect of the project. It represents the DAO’s core and gives Noundles holders access to future exclusive drops and live community events. Importantly, the team behind Noundles has also announced that some of the future NFT drops will only be available to RAINBOW holders. Instead of minting with ETH, collectors will need RAINBOW tokens received as rewards for staking Noundles tokens.

At the time of writing, Noundles has already caught the attention of a large portion of the NFT community. With more than 15.000 Discord members, the project has also brought in big names in the crypto space like Otto Suwen and Crawf.

What’s more, Noundles NFTs are also among the most traded in the past seven days. According to DappRadar data, over 2500 collectors interacted with the collection’s smart contracts, completing upwards of 2600 transactions. At the time of writing, the floor price for a Noundles NFT is 0.67 ETH, or about $2841. That’s a pretty sweet increase from the initial mint price of 0.04 ETH.
