ByCropbytes: Pay to Earn!

I started playing Cropbytes several weeks ago and I will share with you my experiences so far along with facts and my opinions.

In order to start playing Cropbytes you need to have NFTs. Cropbytes gives a person a free week trial with a few items to start with but these items will disappear once the trial period is over. The amount of extracts a person gets from this trial period is not enough to do anything with. You can not sell it because in Cropbytes the minimum sale consists of 25 items of the same kind: IE 25 apples, 25 wheat, etc. This means that you have no in-game currency to buy anything.

So after the trial period is over and you have no in-game items you are left to purchase in game items to continue. Cropbytes offers 3 packs that consist of items. These items are not transferable and not sellable.

The small package consists of a small plot of farm land, 2 sheep, 2 corn feed, 2 fruit feed, 10 water, and 10 corn seed. The cost is approximately 20USDT/Tether.

The medium pack consists of a small plot of farm land, an apple tree, a sheep, one rooster, 2 fruit feed, 5 corn feed, 20 corn, and 20 water. The cost is approximately 35USDT/Tether.

The large pack consists of a small plot of farm land, an apple tree, a sheep, a goat, one rooster, a small well, 3 fruit feed, 10 corn feed, 50 corn, 40 water, and 5 electricity. The cost is approximately 50USDT/Tether.

The first thing that needs to be known is that the USDT Tether is a ERC20 token. I had no idea that there was a difference. I thought that USDT Tether was USDT Tether. I purchased $55.00 worth of USDT Tether from COINBASE and sent it directly into my game address. After hours it still had not shown up. I began to dp research on YouTube and found an article that stated that the Tether from Coinbase is not ERC2- and if you send your crypto to your ERC20 address you will loose your crypto. So at this point I had lost over half a hundred dollars. I should have accepted this loss as proof I should not play this game.

Instead, I went to my Binance.US account and bought another $55.00 worth of USDT Tether ERC20. Binance.US has a 10 day waiting period on crypto withdrawals if the crypto is bought with a debit card or a bank account. I waited a few days and bought some more USD Tether. On my 10th dayI transferred my first 55 USDT Tether and paid a few Tether for the gas fees. I waited 10 days from my second Binance.US (but really my third) purchase of Tether and sent it to my Cropbytes address. I had no problems sending USD Tether ERC20 tokens from Binance.US to Cropbytes.

I was now pretty excited to be making my first purchase from Crobytes and beginning my play to earn crypto farming game. I bought the medium and the large packs. I placed my plots of land and my apple trees. I watered each of my trees and farm land and the growing started.

I went to feed my animals which consists of 2 sheep, 2 roosters, and a goat. When I clicked on the animal pens nothing happened. The feed sign did not show up. I tried to find out how to feed my animals from youTube videos but the Feed sign I saw in those videos did not come up on my screen. I finally decided to log out and log back into the game. This time the feed sign did show up so I fed all of my animals.

It only took a short time until I ran out of the corn feed that I started with from purchasing the 2 packs. I had to turn some of my USDT into cropbytes cryptocurrency so I could pay to grind up my corn that came with the 2 packs.

In Cropbytes the well requires electricity in order to get water. In real life for thousands of years people used a rope and a bucket but in this game we HAVE to use a power pump. So November 5th I bought some power after I ran out of the water that came in the 2 packs. It was at this time I realized that the small well was not able to produce enough water to cover 5 animals and 4 plants. As I had predicted it wasn’t long before I ran dry of water and had to buy extra water on November 16th, November 23rd, and December 3rd. So far I bought 160 water.

This also happened with my corn. I ran out of corn feed and I did not have 10 corn to grind at the mill. I bought a total of 130 corn feed in 3 purchases. I hope the corn issue worked itself out meaning that I am able to grow more corn than I am using. I am currently at 86.6 corn feed and I have 12 corn.

I do get extracts from my animals in the form of wool, feathers, and fur. I do not have any use for these 3 items at this time. The only way these extracts are useful to me is to sell them. In order to sell an item on the market for cropbytes you have to have a minimum of 25 of that specific item.

I started with 200 cropbytes/cbx that I bought at the beginning (November 3rd) using my Tether. I currently have 177.5971 and 30 is locked and I do not know why some of my cbx is locked. So my usable CBX is 147.5971.

As you can see, I am loosing cbx faster than I can make it. If this continues I will have to either purchase new in game items in order to try and balance out my profit to loss. This means that I would have to buy a well to get more water. The current price of an NFT well is for sale at 4200 cbx. At the time of me writing this the current price of cbx is .0366 USD. This is approximately $153.72.

If I do not purchase a well and I continue to lose cbx in the game without making it back by selling the animal extracts I will loose everything that I invested.

I hope this article allows you to see the benefits and the shortfalls of buying into the Cropbytes game.
