Hello crypto enthusiast, I'd like to tell you about a new browser I've come across. It's called Decentr, and its awesome!
I used to use the BRAVE browser, and it was alright at first. It introduced me to the concept of earning ad revenue when I browse the internet, after all, if browsers collect your data, and then sell it to advertisers, then why shouldn't I be entitled to a share of that. I had used Brave for about a year and a half, earning about 3 to 4 Basic Attention Tokens per month, doing nothing different than I'd normally do, just browsing the internet. But a few months ago, when I tried to actually claim my tokens, I was prompt to make an account on the Gemini exchange, fill out KYC, and my tokens would transfer to the Gemini exchange where I could swap them if I wanted. Somehow, upon signing up, my tokens from my Brave wallet disappeared and never appeared in my Gemini account. After tediously trying to contract both Gemini and Brave, Gemini claimed it an issue on Braves end, and Brave only replied with automated responses directing me to message boards that were no help, other than seeing many others had the same issue.
To say the least, I got frustrated and looked for another "Browse to Earn" browser. That's when I found Decentr, a true web3 browser that works similar to a crypto-wallet. Upon downloading the browser, I was given a 12-word back-up phrase, and set a password.
Similar to Brave, Decentr pays uses their share of ad revenue generated, paid in DEC tokens. But unlike Brave, there's no KYC to fill out to receive your tokens. The DEC token is currently worth 0.081734$ per token, with a market cap of only 8.2M$, and a total supply of 1B tokens, and circulating supply of about 101.2M. The browser also has a staking feature to allow users to stake their DEC tokens and earn an APY.
Since Decentr is new, they also offer a referral program, and pay 10 DEC per referral.
The browser is available for windows, mac, or even linux, and android mobile devices. The Decentr blockchain explore keeps track of all transactions, and the source code is publicly available.
Decentr has quite the list of partners as well, such as; Ocean, Chainlink, Uniswap, Cosmos, CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, and Etherscan to name a few.
The PVD (Personal Data Value) is the value of the [securely] recorded online activity associated to you Dec-ID. Only you can access this data, and you can choose what your data is used for and who has access to it by setting your settings to private, semi-private or public.
Rewards are distributed regularly, about once per month, or when the blockchain reaches its necessary height, and can be sold/swapped on the Uniswap DEX, as DEC is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain.
