Brave has continued to refine and improve BRAVE Search and last week launched a key new feature to help continue to push the search engine forward. The new addition is Answer with AI which has the engine synthize information from multiple sources into a single, intelligible answer. I first saw this announced on X by one of the top people at Brave.
It turns out that this feature has been in Beta for some time as they have attempted to work out all the kinks in it and in Sampson's own words he "cannot imagine going back to a time without it". On Brave Software's X they posted a video of someone using it that you can see and it is safe to say the display was quite impressive! Need help with recipes? It can display them. Questions about restaurants? Bam it can find the answer just as well!
In my limited time using it, I have been shocked at how helpful it has been. Not to mention that it cites the sources and will take you to where it found the answer allowing you to follow up and further read into what it has stated. Brave has also described this as an iteration of web-scale search engines and calls it an answer engine.
Not only that but with this engine's introduction it is already one of the largest AI solutions on the market! To try out and use this feature instead of hitting the enter key or licking the search button you do have to click the Answer with AI button (the last option that looks like a star). It should be noted that this feature is only possible because of the unique combination of not only LLMs that power but also more importantly up-to-date and reliable data. This is possible because of how Brave can combine its unique and person index with AI something that other companies cannot offer due to them leveraging third parties.
This is another fantastic step by the Brave team that further separates it from the other search engines as they provide these answers from a privacy-focused background.
