Voice CEO Salah Zalatimo announced that the social media platform will release on July 4, a month in advance before the earlier planned release of August. Stating the need to take social media influence back from big tech, Zalatimo said that the team had pivoted to the idea of releasing the platform sooner.

Users will be able to register for the platform on June 4, though this will only be by request. From August 15, users can begin sending invitations out to friends. The release follows months of beta testing.

Zalatimo welcomed users with the following earnest plea, which comes at a time social media platforms are receiving flak for censorship and general policies.

If you feel like the world needs a social media platform that doesn't play politics, empowers communities, and respects your data, please join us and help create social as it should be.

Block. One is the company behind EOS (EOS), on top of which Voice runs. It has shelled out $150 million to support the development of Voice, as well as spending $30 million to purchase the domain Voice.com. The platform was first announced in June 2019 by Block. One CEO Brendan Blumer, who said he had hopes for the platform to encourage good behaviour.
