Cardano ADA as the digital infrastructure of Ethiopia.
What this could mean to all Cardano holder, to Ethiopia, to Africa?
Or will this be an event where Cardano will announce that the whole of Africa will use ADA as a currency? That is a little bit too far.
In his podcast, Charles Hoskinson said, "The reality is you don't want to go to where the pack is, you want to go to where the pack will be. in other words you want to go where the economy is gonna grow the fastest and the greatest opportunity."
Charles sees Africa as the China in the 80's. This is why they are building this infrastructure in Ethiopia then the rest of Africa.
Looking at the website https://africa.cardano.org It is glaringly obvious what the Cardano Foundation will announce on 29th of April, 2021.
The 2 partners that catch my attention is the Yellow Card and Payway Ethiopia as this seems to rhyme with the tweet regarding COTI debut in Cardano Africa Special.
ADA Pay, Yellow Card, Payway Ethiopia are pieces of a puzzle coming together.
ADA Pay - A payment solution to make it easier for consumers to pay with their ADA tokens by clicking the ADA options. They can scan QR code and confirm the payment. COTI is developing and implementing this service making the ADA payment gateway solution simple to deploy for merchants.
Yellow Card is a cryptocurrency exchange on which you can buy or sell supported cryptocurrencies with your local currency. It also also offers a secure cryptocurrency wallet with which you send, receive, and store your cryptocurrencies. Ios and Android supported wallets.
Payway Ethiopia - Aims to solve varying customer payment needs. Whose main goal is to develop and improve capabilities of instant payment systems in Ethiopia. Payway is a conduit between the various service providers, dealers and end-users, we seek to create convenient and effective partnerships that are of mutual benefit for all.
Conclusion
Blockchain real world application is a coming of age. This is also a coming of age for Cardano as it posture itself as a digital infrastructure of Ethiopia. This is a big hype event, yet Charles Hoskinson is not expecting that it will move the price of ADA. Reddit sentiment is also encouraging everyone to not expect to much of this event. But then again maybe people are not getting how big this is.
