Bitcoin is on Samsung Galaxy S10 Already, Another 32 Cryptos Supported

After announcing its plans earlier in August, South Korean tech giant Samsung appears to have already added support for and another 32 coins to its Blockchain Wallet for the Galaxy S10 smartphone.

Per a report from South Korean national daily newspaper Seoul Kyungjae, the service has been updated, with BTC and wallets automatically generated on S10 devices. The report also shows a screenshot in Korean showing that the user can “add a new token or coin” wallet.

The same report states that a total of 33 cryptocurrencies are now compatible with the phone, including Pundi X’s token, and . Moreover, in the past few hours, a Reddit user has also posted an image of what appears to be a screenshot of their Samsung Blockchain Wallet with live BTC and ETH wallets – this time in English. In addition to the above mentioned coins, it also shows accounts for , and .

Meanwhile, the newspaper quotes a Samsung Galaxy Store spokesperson as stating that customers will also soon be able to create wallets for tokens used by Samsung-affiliated dapps.

, Samsung first indicated its intent to add Bitcoin support earlier this month, when it posted a notice about its forthcoming blockchain Software Development Kit (SDK) on its developers’ website. At this stage, the kit is restricted to the following nations: Canada, Germany, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the United States of America and the UK.

The move means that millions of Samsung smartphone users will eventually be able to use Bitcoin with apps via the Blockchain Wallet that the company began including on its flagship devices, beginning with the Galaxy S10 earlier this year.

Seoul Kyungjae also states that Samsung has recently added the dapp to its store. Dent lets users trade mobile data using PayPal and cryptocurrencies.
