Over the course of human history, there have been many technological innovations. Most of them are simple tools that make our tasks take less time and energy. However, there are some of them called “Psycho Technologies” that deeply change the way our minds work. The most clear example is language, numbers, math and the written word.
All of these technologies made the transfer of knowledge take a significant leap, allowing our understanding of the world to develop. This results in massive changes as a society and the way in which we organize ourselves.
Throughout our history we always see that these innovations are kept by a small number of people, away from the general public. In the Middle Ages most of the population was illiterate, while the ones who had the most power were the only ones who had the knowledge to understand it. It wasn’t until the printing press came along, that we saw this disruptive innovation become evenly spread among the population.
The internet did something very similar, allowing information to flow effortlessly between jurisdictions. Connecting the entire world, which before was kept much more separate.
Yet now we have the emergence of new “Psycho Technology” in the form of Bitcoin. I will admit, and I know I am not the only one, that I never understood anything of economics until I started researching Bitcoin. For the first time in history, the knowledge of how the economic structure works, who controls it, and who benefits from it, is widely spread worldwide. The veil that has kept us ignorant this whole time is finally lifted. Not only can we see the evident cracks in the system, we also have a way out.
As I attempt to explain Bitcoin to people I can see how it stretches the limits of their mind as they struggle to comprehend it. Then I stop and think that this same effect is happening a million times over every day, in all the corners of the globe.
The same way math changes our understanding and our way of thinking, Bitcoin does it as well. It cannot help but shift our entire society. Once you begin the process of truly understanding what it means, it is rather obvious that a lot will change in the near future.
I know most people in the crypto markets are just looking for an asset with a high return on investment. I urge you, however, to take some time and try to understand what is happening here, the old structures are collapsing as we speak, the old systems can no longer function. There is something new coming, which in the end will be great for everyone. The transition period, however, might not be gentle to those who don’t pay attention to the signs.
In time this will be more and more obvious. I can only recommend everyone to open your eyes, and start to prepare for what is coming. I'll continue to study, learn and gather information as much as I can while continuing to write about it. I hope this is helpful for you.
In my humble opinion, Btc will continue to grow until it becomes the world reserve asset. This will be great for human kind, as it will level the playing field, turning markets more fair and inclusive. Those who see this change early and start adapting to it are the ones who stand to gain the most. I see understanding this particular moment in history as a moral duty to my unborn children. They are the ones who will be most affected whether I succeed in doing so or not.
In this sense, Bitcoin “Psycho Technology” features are even more evident. It has changed the way I see the world and operate in it. Now I am much more long term focused, and only want what is best for the generations yet to come. There is a saying that goes “A society grows strong, when people plant the trees whose shade they’ll never sit beneath”, I believe this to be true. Perhaps this new innovation will help more people think like this, and together we can build a better future.
