Binance fud???

Sigh... who knows what the hell is going on with  in Dubai? It appears that they have an unhealthy holding of TUSD on their books, and executives in the Compliance and Legal departments have recently resigned... sure, there is a whole heap of FUD and rumours floating around... and I wouldn't be the first to say that  is a touch on the shady side of things, but it really doesn't help that everything is so unclear!

These rumours were already all over the place a few weeks back when the SEC had filed a suit against , in particular the US portion of BINANCE that they have direct jurisdiction over... and during that time, I removed a bulk of my on-exchange assets to Ledger Nano S/X and other non-custodial wallets. It was something that I had been meaning to do anyway (it is a bit of a yearly clean-up...), but the news plus the removal of EARN products from Australian users meant that there really wasn't much reason to hold digital assets in an exchange any more.

Actually, the only thing that was holding me back was the withdrawal fees and the lack of preparation on my end of things to receive the tokens. Mostly, it just meant setting up and preparing withdrawal addresses on Ledger Nano S/X... but if you have played around a bit with alt-coins... you will know that not everything is neatly integrated with Ledger... and there is a great deal of fragmentation around, plus the ever present danger of bad information and links!

Still, most of it was done... and I was taking a bit of a break from that to do IRL stuff... like playing music, designing education projects, and writing grant applications!

Sadly, with today's news about the Binance execs quitting... I'm even less sure that I should leave anything there! Sure, there is the BNB that now forms the bulk of what of left there, and I will probably leave that there... if Binance goes down, then BNB is going to not be worth that much anyway!

But the rest of the remaining coins were mostly smaller projects with annoying LEDGER integrations, or non-existent ones... which meant that there was a bit of fussing around to get it all working. It has been a bit of an annoying chore for the past couple of hours... but I think most of it is ready to go now... I got burnt at FTX, not for much... but it still stings a little, so I'm determined to be better disciplined this time around!
