In this Battle Master Training Camp, we will give you four tips for battling and winning in the World of Cryptoids. After learning these tips, we can instantly improve your gameplay.

Don’t spam your cards

Do not spam your cards! It is super tempting to just spam all your cards to decimate your enemies, but World of Cryptoids rewards players heavily who are skilful and mindful of their resources and penalize those who aren’t. So it is crucial to be mindful of your resources, namely, your ability cards and energies.

The combat system in World of Cryptoids revolves around using your Cryptoids’ abilities to defeat your opponents. Every ability card will cost a certain amount of energy.

You will always start the battle with 8 energy, refilling 6 energy every round afterwards along with what you had left from the last round.

Simply put, you should plan ahead and save as much energy as possible for the next battle. Why should you save up energy you asked?

Race advantages

Always consider race advantages and disadvantages when planning your move! A move will be 15% more effective when against an advantageous race and 15% less when against a disadvantageous race. Having a 15% boost to your damage output is more impactful than you perceive. On the contrary, you are taking 15% less damage when fighting with a race advantage.

For example, if the enemy's damage dealer is a Technology Cryptoid, you Food Cryptoid could tank extra hits before going down, which would buy your team the time to knock down the enemies first. On the flip side, if your Food Cryptoid is fighting against a Fashion Cryptoid in the frontline, your tank most likely will not outlast the enemy's tank, making a wide opening to your backline.

Race advantages in World of Cryptoids are something more than just a 15% increase/decrease in damage. Especially, some of the Cryptoids’ abilities have special effects against a particular race. Take Insecticide as an example:

Insecticide will grant Attack+ to the Cryptoid when attacking an Animal/Vitamin target. If your Technology Cryptoid is equipped with this ability, it could receive an Attack+ for the round, adding additional 20% damage to all your attacks.

However, most of the Animal and Spirit Cryptoids are squishies and are hiding behind their tank Cryptoid, does that mean you cannot use Insecticide’s special effect until knocking down enemies’ frontline? That is where priority changing ability comes in. For example, Parabola can ensure your Insecticide could snipe off enemies’ frontline:

Let us explain a bit about how aiming in World of Cryptoids works before diving into this Parakbola?—?Insecticide combo. In World of Cryptoids, the attack priority will always go from the front to the back, which means enemies’ frontline will take all the hits before going down.

On top of that, Cryptoid could not switch targets within a round. In other words, every ability a Cryptoid used in one round will always aim for the same enemy, even if the enemy got knockout amid your combo. That is also why you want to hide your squishy damage dealer in the back.

With this knowledge, you will understand the true power of abilities like Parabola because it hits specific targets and lets the subsequent cards hit the same target in this round.

Of course, the damage done by Parabola alone is nothing to ride home with as it has a base attack of only 30. However, pairing it with two Insecticide abilities, you could usually one-shot enemies’ backline Spirit/Animal Cryptoids before they knew it.

Combo your abilities! In World of Cryptoids, you can combo your abilities with cards of the same race. Going back to the Parabola?—?Insecticide combo, because both abilities belong to Technology, causing the attack to increase. That is why pairing Insecticide with Parabola is better than other priority switching abilities, such as Earrings Throw (Fashion).

How do you know you are using a combo? When you hover over a second ability card of the same race after you clicked the one card, you will see a visual indication to indicate that the second ability card will cause a “Combo”.

If the same race abilities are used by different Cryptoids, it is called a Chain. Chain, similar to Combo, will grant extra bonus to the Cryptoids, but to shield instead of attack. When two or more Cryptoids used abilities of the same race, it will cause a Chain and provide an extra 15% shield for those Cryptoids.

When you don’t think you have the damage to take down enemies in this round, you are better off focusing on pumping your shield with Chains instead of prioritizing your damage abilities.

Similar to “Combo”, you can see a visual indicator to notify you when you are using a different Cryptoid’s ability of the same race of the first card.

And that’s it! 1) Don’t spam your cards 2) Consider race advantages 3) Utilize Combo and 4) Chain. With these four tips, you can drastically improve your gameplay and go one step close as a battle master in the World of Cryptoids.
