Sky Mavis, the company behind the Ethereum-based collectibles game Axie Infinity, has partnered with The Sandbox, an upcoming user-generated game platform along the same lines as Decentraland, to launch an Axie-themed racing game.
While little has been shared about the new game, The Sandbox team notes the game will be created using voxel art and should be available in the next few months. According to the announcement, it will be available in the Axie Infinity ESTATE in the middle of the LAND map.
This news comes around a week after the conclusion of the first round of The Sandbox LAND sale. This sale featured 2.5% of the total map (3,096 LANDs). While the first round was supposed to end on December 20, the LAND sold out in under 4 hours.
The Sandbox also recently released its dashboard and announced its Game Maker Fund, a program to reward the first 100 original game proposals for the platform. Game Maker will allow LAND holders to build unique experiences with ASSETS on their piece of the metaverse.
