One of the hottest topics of the moment is definitely Ethereum and its blockchain. Being a cutting-edge technology, in fact, many companies are getting interested in this network, and more and more updates are taking shape. On March 2, 2021, e-commerce king Amazon announced that Ethereum will also be available on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Users, then, will be able to set up new nodes and participate in the main Ethereum network using the Amazon Managed Blockchain.
Amazon Web Services: what is it?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is nothing but a cloud computing platform dedicated to providing services for companies, startups, and entrepreneurs who want to use the most functionality at a low cost. Among other services, in fact, Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides its customers with computing infrastructure, databases for mass storage, AI, data lakes, Internet Of Things, and much more.
Being an extremely flexible and international service, Amazon Web Services (AWS) supports over 90 security protocols, each of which is certified according to the standards of the various countries. Moreover, all data can be encrypted by companies that, being within a huge community, can interact with each other.
In addition, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has an internal blockchain called Amazon Managed Blockchain, a service aimed at creating easily scalable networks that leverage the technology used most in the cryptocurrency industry. Through the blockchain, in fact, it is possible to give life to platforms and applications that manage themselves, and that allows you to enter into smart contracts (smart-contracts) without the need for an intermediary authority.
Creating a blockchain network on their own, however, could be very complicated for companies, as it requires advanced technical knowledge and, of course, a not inconsiderable amount of time. In this regard, Amazon Managed Blockchain wants to simplify this process in order to make it accessible to all startups that want to differentiate themselves from the crowd.
Amazon Managed Blockchain introduces Ethereum
On March 2, 2021, Amazon Managed Blockchain announced the introduction of the Ethereum network. According to the post, Amazon Web Service (AWS) customers will finally be able to set up new Ethereum nodes in just a few steps. Moreover, it will be possible to join the main Ethereum network or, alternatively, participate in test networks such as Rinkeby and Ropsten.
This, of course, will not only serve to create easily scalable platforms and systems but will allow companies and startups to take advantage of a much more secure network, encrypted in every aspect. What's more, it will be possible to access Ethereum's open-source system via APIs, achieving immediate and much more reliable synchronizations than conventional technologies. Still, each participant will have extremely flexible and almost unassailable storage space.
This is not the first time that Amazon offers its users services related to the world of blockchain. In fact, the e-commerce giant has been providing similar tools since 2019 now, representing one of the first companies to grasp the potential of these innovative technologies. Initially, however, users could only access networks, decentralized applications, and smart-contracts.
Moreover, these tools were only provided in East Coast countries in the U.S. Today, however, Amazon's Managed Blockchain service is being made available to states such as Asia and Europe.
How do you use Amazon Managed Blockchain for Ethereum?
Amazon, as it usually does, wanted to offer a simple and intuitive service. For this reason, a real guide is available through which you can access the Ethereum blockchain, so you can take advantage of the service in just a few steps.
Within the guide, you can see how to select the container platform and how to use it. It also explains how docker-local works, but also how to choose a public or private Ethereum network.
Still, companies will be able to find out how to modify the seed phrase (mnemonic phrase) and what requirements are needed to fully use the service.

Conclusions
This isn't the first time we've heard about big companies interested in blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Recently, we've seen Tesla's purchase of bitcoin, interest from banks like JPMorgan, and payment circuits like Visa.
However, the creation of a service like Amazon's Managed Blockchain is something unique, marking a new step towards the adoption of these new technologies.
Keeping up to date, in these cases, can only help us not to fall behind. Moreover, knowing about the existence of similar tools could really make a difference, especially in the case of entrepreneurs or startups.
