Why do I have the feeling that in a few years from now google will have its own blockchain, token and payment system? Probably because Sundar Pichai sees blockchain technology as “interesting” and “powerful” and said that his company wants to get involved with it. Yep, we've come to a point where google almighty is no longer ignoring blockchain.

There have been talks already about the giant search company to enable users to store cryptocurrencies in digital cards, Arnold Goldberg – a former executive at PayPal – being in charge of the initiative.

“We’re inspired by the work already done in the digital asset space by our customers, and we look forward to providing the infrastructure and technologies to support what’s possible with blockchain technologies in the future.”

Google is proving with this move that it rather adapts than let the industry disrupt it and throw it to trash.

Blockchain technology is no longer just a fad or an "if". It is being talked at state level, we have use cases for it in our daily lives, it is still far from being mass adopted, but engineers that have built de so called "apps of the past" are now joining the blockchain revolution.

“Some of our dreams couldn’t be realized at Facebook due to regulatory pressure and the company being unable to adopt cutting edge technology aggressively. So, we thought about doing a startup because we’ve done work in the space and want to share it. We are building our own blockchain that will be comparable to Ethereum, Solana and so on, but we want the capability to go beyond that.”

The above quote comes from an ex Facebook employee that no longer felt like working for the establishment under the red tape and is instead teaming up with other fellow colleagues in creating their own blockchain dedicated to WEB3... What are these people so obsessed with WEB3?... I guess there must be something about it.

It's not the first time we hear/read about Ethereum killers and tbh I love knowing that the blockchain industry is expanding because competition is what pushes progress forward. Hive for example doesn't have any competition yet and probably that's why no marketing, apps look so outdated and we're so underexposed.

Once it will have a blockchain threatening to steal its users we shall see tremendous changes that should have been made for years. Hope you're having a great day and see you to the next post.
