Opera, a leading mobile browser with over 80 million users on Android mobile, will be integrating Polygon onto its network.

Opera’s integration with Polygon, a Layer 2 scaling solution on the Ethereum blockchain, will make it so that millions of phone users can access over 3,000 decentralized applications on the Polygon Network.

The announcement came only days since Uniswap v3 went live on the popular layer 2 protocol as more players seek its fast, scalable, and low-fee environment.

The Opera browser comes pre-installed with a custodial crypto wallet which has support for the Ethereum Web3 API and will let users interact with dApps.

Some of the services that Opera users can look forward to include:

  • Sushiswap DEX
  • Balancer DEX
  • Decentraland NFT platform
  • OpenSea NFT marketplace

With this integration, Opera’s hundreds of millions monthly active users will be able to experience Polygon’s thriving dApp ecosystem and best in class Web3 technology.

The Opera browser wallet tries to make it easy for new users to onboard into web3 by eliminating the use of passwords instead relying of Android’s system lock.

Opera is the leading browser in Africa and other emerging areas of the world with hundreds of millions of monthly active users as of 2021.
