I use the Nodle app daily, and so that means that I also receive updates about the Nodle ecosystem.
A few days ago, I got an update about a new photo-sharing app called Click.
I read the description but didn't really understand what it was because I wasn't paying attention that day. Maybe I got distracted, or maybe I was having a bad day. But whichever, I simply forgot all about it.
Then, a few days later, Nodle told me that the Click app had reached 10,000 downloads and so I thought, why not, let's have a look.
The first thing to note is that you need to give the app permission to use your camera, of course, but also to use your location. I feel like this is worth pointing out.
But this is because Click embeds all kinds of information into the picture or video. It includes the metadata, location (with coordinates), device used and so on.
And that's all integrated into the picture in perpetuity, verified via blockchain technology.
If you can gloss over the grammar mistake in the app's description*, it's a cool idea.
Put simply, the idea is that sometimes, and this is especially true with the news regarding current events and politics, pictures and videos are included out of context.
But if you include blockchain-verified information that cannot be altered or fabricated, it guarantees the authenticity of said picture.
The app was first released in Beta back in late 2023, it is now available for both iOS and Android.

Sorry about that, it was just the first thing I saw in the first thing that came to mind. But anyway, as you can see, the photo comes with information about where it was taken, using what device, etc.
*the description reads: "I acknowledge that signing a photo will make it and *it's* full metadata [...]." - I know I'm being annoying, but it should be 'its metadata, not 'it's'.
