3 Apps that have introduced me to Cryptocurrency and the Metaverse

Do repost and rate:

Recently I decided to come out of my shell a little bit and start learning about Cryptocurrency and the Metaverse. Immediately, it's an overwhelming amount of different information. I've heard people talk about the Cryptos they hold and different investment options as if they are professionals, but where did that information come from? I am in the very early stages of all of this, I am still yet to even purchase any cryptos such as BTC or ETH. However I did discover an App through an advertisement to a game and it has been very eye opening. There is an entire digital blanket layered on the ground that we walk on every day. The Metaverse. Metaverses. Virtual Reality. Digital Real Estate. Blocks of land of various sizes, that people are buying. If you are new to all of these topics like I am, here are 3 Apps that may help you scratch the surface of Cryptocurrency and the Metaverse.

Disclaimer: I do not take credit or ownership for any of the applications mentioned in this article. I have not been encouraged or paid to advertise any of these names, this is strictly for educational purposes for myself and others. This information is truthful to the best of my knowledge.

Atlas Empires:

Atlas Empires is actually one of the apps I stumbled on later, however I feel like its a good place to start. Atlas Empires from Atlas Reality, Inc. is an app that lets you choose a block of virtual land that is mapped from your neighborhood and build it into an Empire. You find rewards by moving through the map, or your "neighborhood" and can battle other players empires. This game is free to play with optional purchases and does not seem to have any regard to cryptocurrency.

Atlas Earth:

Atlas Earth is still in the early stages with fairly limited functions as of right now. Atlas Earth is also from the creators of Atlas Empire, and is very similar in game play style. This game is really where my journey through the metaverse began and introduced me to virtual real estate. In this Metaverse, the "parcels" of land ,which are 900 sq.ft., can be purchased with real money and these plots of virtual real estate generate revenue over time that can be cashed out for real money. Don't get me wrong, this is not a money making scheme. In 36 hours I believe I have made almost half a penny. It is interesting enough though to grab a few plots of land and just hold on to them to see what happens.

Decentraland

This is where things seem to get pricey. Decentraland is... well honestly im going to copy and paste this from Wikipedia.

Description

Decentraland is a 3D virtual world browser-based platform. Users may buy virtual plots of land in the platform as NFTs via the MANA cryptocurrency, which uses the Ethereum blockchain. Designers can create and sell clothes and accessories for the avatars to be used in the virtual world.

Initial release date: February 20, 2020

Programming languages: OpenGL Shading Language

Available in: English (official)

License: Apache-2.0

Original author(s): Ariel Meilich, Esteban Ordano       From what im seeing, these plots of land are ranging from $2700.00 to $3.5 Million. Why? I am still yet to find out. How do you play the game?  That I still need to figure out as well. Today ill be creating a Decentraland character to try and get a closer look before I go into too much detail about the game itself.       Thankyou for your time reading my article, this really is my first article so there will be lots of room for improvement! If you are interested in learning about Cryptocurrency or would like to reach out about any information to me that I may be unclear on please feel free to like, follow, subscribe whatver it is that people are doing these days.  Cheers!
