This was a blog I was dragging my feet on. Utility token for the Internet of Things (#46 IOTA competitor)?. Yawn. I’d much rather talk about my dog’s bunions than how I’m getting micropayments from my toaster. As it turns out, that is #135 IoTex so I’ve got a few more weeks to drag my feet on toasters micropayments. But, like most of the tokens I’ve profiled on Page 2, IOST seem to CRACK page 1 shortly after me starting my research. Indeed, IOST is a cracker, matching its all-time-high set six months ago, and exceeding ATH in Market Cap.
Well, for starters you can select a human-readable wallet address on their non-ERC20 mainnet, which has a respectable 500 million transactions and about that many wallets. Because no one loves typing out addresses that looks like a drunk cat wrote it by walking across the keyboard. There are a multitude of wallets, and you can buy IOST on just about any exchange.

Cross chain swaps are accomplished via about 300 nodes. These nodes can vote for each other, and each IOST token equals one vote. We all know voting is boring and pointless, but it looks like IOST has found a way to make it interesting by allowing people to vote for themselves.
And of course there are Dapps and more Dapps. Which ones and what do they do? Staking and NFTs… sorry, I had to pause to take my anti-psychosis meds… are implemented. Japanese medical app looks promising and there’s something other than online games. I’m sorry if I’m not impressed. Let’s check the socials.
It seems this CRACKER has it’s large social community on the usual, censor-fascist platforms you can see by checking the socials tab on CoinGecko. Their Telegram has a bunch of followers (17k) but it looks kinda spammy and dry. Their Medium is good, but there is no Discord.
Frankly, I’m not impressed, but the market is. In the last 14 days it has 2X’d on high buying volume. A lot of people have bought into this, bringing their rank into the 70’s despite the top-sellers.
