TRON Dedicates Upcoming Blockchain Summit to Kobe Bryant

The TRON Foundation will dedicate the upcoming niTROn Summit to legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant, who, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning. TRON Founder and CEO, Justin Sun, who had previously participated in a panel discussion with the five-time NBA championship winner, has also acknowledged the passing of Bryant.

The death of American professional basketball player, Kobe Bryant, has sent shockwaves around the world and many tributes have poured in. Bryant was traveling with his 13-year-old daughter by helicopter over Los Angeles, which crashed on Sunday morning.

The TRON Foundation has offered its condolences and stated that the upcoming niTROn Summit, to be held from February 29 to March 1, will be dedicated to Bryant.

The niTROn Summit is an annual gathering of developers, investors, experts, and all sorts of industry insiders where they discuss the developments and future of the blockchain industry. To the surprise of many, it was announced in 2018 that Bryant would be appearing at the 2019 Summit.

Bryant and Sun Spoke about Blockchain at niTROn

TRON Founder and CEO, Justin Sun, has also expressed his grief, saying that “meeting [Kobe] was one of my life’s greatest honor & privilege, I’ll forever remember [Kobe and I] on stage discussing the future of blockchain.”

At last year’s niTROn Summit, Bryant and Sun both appeared on stage and spoke about various subjects, including the future of blockchain technology.

Justin Sun and TRON in the Spotlight Again

Sun, who often finds himself in the centerpiece of criticism is once in the spotlight. The media is reporting that Sun and TRON’s head of engineering, Cong Li, allegedly harassed and fired two employees, who are now suing the pair.

Speaking of the incident, a spokesperson stated,

“TRON is not able to speak on the details of pending litigation, but what we can tell you is that our customers, employees and the TRON community are extremely important to us.”

On the more pleasant side of news for TRON investors, Samsung added TRON to its Blockchain Keystore, which allows users of the Galaxy S10 smartphone to access TRON’s decentralized applications. Sun said that the move was a “beginning of a new era” and that “after Samsung and all the phone manufacturers begin to integrate blockchain technology infrastructures, applications will pop up everywhere.”
