The crypto ecosystem has no shortage of jargon. What is your goal with your crypto investments? Do you want to travel the world? Do you want to start a charity? Or do you want to buy a lime green, V12 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ?
Lambo has become synonymous with the goal investors are looking to attain with their capital. But beyond the curb appeal, high price tag, and exclusive status, few may realize how Lambos are a fitting parallel to the cryptocurrency story.
Ferruccio Lamborghini was an industrialist that made tractors in Bologna, Italy after World War II. He was successful, and therefore also owned several of the world’s premier vehicles at that time, made by another Italian industrialist down the road named Enzo Ferrari. But, Ferruccio Lamborghini grew frustrated with the unreliability, pompousness, and lack of transparency within the Ferrari organization and its products. He knew he could make a product that was better, faster, more reliable. Lamborghini grew frustrated with the incumbent system and disrupted the status quo with an innovative (and very fast) product he built himself.
Lambo certainly does stand for high performance, lofty goals, and a certain degree of status in the crypto community. But like its founder, it also represents determination, grit, and authenticity. It stands for disruption and challenging of norms. Investors that are ‘holding out for the Lambo’ are not only looking for a pay day, but to build their own legacy, and to build it on their own terms. Everyone’s lambo is unique, but all have the underlying premise: achievement of their financial goal.
