I hope you are all well and having a great day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. Today I will be doing a write up regarding one of my favourite YouTubers, Coffeezilla. He has been in the public spotlight a lot recently for his strong stance and claims against the likes of Logan Paul regarding scamming via crypto.

Who is Coffeezilla

Recently the YouTuber Coffeezilla has shot to fame due to his alteration with Logan Paul over a project CryptoZoo, a NFT based game which Logan Paul was involved with developing and founding. This is not the first time Coffeezilla has been in the spotlight for calling out a product or person over their false claims.

Stephen Findeisen, better known by his online alias Coffeezilla, is an American Youtuber and crypto journalist who users his platform to investigate and expose alleged online scams. These generally revolve around cryptocurrency, Web3, and decentralised finance schemes. Prior to his Coffeezilla channel, Findeisen used another YouTube channel, known as Coffee Break, between 2017 and 2020. Prior to working as a YouTuber his primary career had been selling houses for a local builder.

His motivation for exposing scams began when his mother got sick with cancer. She had been persuaded to purchase questionable healing products, in other words snake oil, which was with the belief they would cure her. She did later recover, but Findeisen decided it was time to do something about these scams towards unsuspecting people.

His YouTube career began with videos in which he makes allegations about influencers and financial commentators. This gained him international recognition when he investigated a "Save the Kids" crypto token, which was nothing more than a rug pull scheme. His claims included that the FaZe Clan member known as Frazier Khattri (FaZe Kay) had collaborated with YouTube prankster Sam Pepper on the project. Khattri got his lawyers to send a cease and desist letter in response, which included retracting the statements, but Coffeezilla merely called the letter an "absolute toilet paper".

One of his more famous videos involves that man we all love to hate, Sam-Bankman Fried (SBF), the former CEO of FTX. Coffeezilla was very active during the collapse of FTX, claiming to have interviewed SBF while also getting him to admit to committing fraud. His role in bringing to light as much as possible regarding what FTX was doing made the Washington Post credit Coffeezilla as one of the most powerful independent news sources when it comes to the cryptocurrency industry.

Issues with Logan Paul

His latest claim of scamming regards Logan Paul, as mentioned above, and began in December 2022. Logan Paul is the creator and developer of CryptoZoo, a NFT based game. The game was launched in September 2021 and Logan Paul had doing a significant amount of public "shilling" prior to its launch. He lauded the idea as a unique and revolutionary game for the crypto space, with it being an interactive game where fans make money as they played. Not that unique then, seeing as hundreds of play2earn games have launched in the crypto space!

The game worked by making use of its own unique cryptocurrency known as , which allowed players to purchase "eggs." These eggs would then hatch, giving players a unique and randomized animal from a list of different rarities. These animals could be bred to create new and crazy cross-bred animals, which would become an NFT. The NFT could be held, traded, or burnt to earn more ZooCoin

Enter Coffeezilla, who in his videos claims that CryptoZoo had been abandoned by its creators shortly after its 2021 launch, and that Logan Paul had significantly distanced himself from the project compared to his pre-release hype of the project. Coffeezilla alleged that the promises made were never fulfilled, and that the team had engaged in market manipulation. This stemmed from the 'testimonies' of many confirmed buyers of , who were themselves self-proclaimed fans of Logan Paul. Among the testimonies was the claim that many of the core features, such as hatching eggs, were completely unavailable for a lot of consumers for a long time after the project launched. Apparently hundreds and thousands of dollars had been lost by those who invested in an allegedly defunct service.

One of the biggest controversies from Coffeezilla's videos regarding CryptoZoo was that many high-ranking individuals behind the scenes of the project had made millions of dollars off of which led to the collapse of the coins value. Apparently a lot of this stemmed form internal disagreements within the team.

Logan Paul did not take kindly to this, and in response uploaded his own video where chastised Coffeezilla for sensationalizing the story. Instead of taking blame, Logan Paul pointed the finger of blame at the other co-founders and advisors of Cryptozoo. He stated they had sold their holdings in the for a large profit long ahead of an agreed upon schedule. He also threatened to sue Coffeezilla for 'defamation' over the allegations made against him in his podcast Impaulsive. He also stated that Coffeezilla had broken 'criminal and civil laws' by uploading an "illegal recording" of an alleged private phone call with his manager, Jeff Levinan.

In a compete 180 on the situation, Logan Paul has since withdrawn the threats and issued an apology to Coffeezilla. He stated that his initial response was brash and not reflective of the true issues at hand. As for Cryptozoo, the project has received a boost in its revival since the release of Coffeezilla's videos on the project. The change of tone from Logan Paul has also helped to have a positive impact on the project, albeit late in the day. Logan Paul could yet become involved in salvaging the project, if nothing else, for his reputation. However, that is as of yet unconfirmed, and it is unclear exactly what will happen next in this saga. There have been reports and tweets stating that he could work to help those who were impacted by the project, but in what manner exactly is unknown. The positive note is that Coffeezilla's videos have brought attention to the project and will likely result in some significant changes for the project and its community.

If nothing else, Coffeezilla is the bit of shining light and truth which has long been missing in the crypto space. While he cannot investigate every single project out there, I feel it is worthwhile subscribing to his channel and seeing what he is looking at. It may just give you a different perspective before investing your money. Also one of the more delightful parts of what Coffeezilla does is to make follow up videos, instead of just one offs and forgetting about it. He ensures the 'saga' is covered from as many aspects as possible as the news unfolds, making him a very reliable and interesting source to follow and learn from.

Have a great day.
