Are we using the right channel?

First and foremost, I have to admit that I am using multiple platforms to share a little bit of awareness to its local users. The topics that I mostly rant about is crypto - well, crypto is the middle name of what we do, so - duh. But more than that, I usually talk about crypto and its relativeness to the traditional finance market and how it generally affects our beloved crypto market on the macro level.

On daily basis, I post on Hive/Leofinance, ReadCashNoiseCashNoiseCash(app)MemoCash. I know, lots of platforms with "Cash" behind the name (Its primarily because the platforms reward their content creators/interactors with BitcoinCash). To be honest, most of the platforms that I have been using, they are not bad - reward wise. Their UIs are simple and easy to use and a lot less confusing in comparison to old blog hosting sites like wordpress. Geezus, that is truly some old school platform. I appreciate them, but in crypto space - most of the platforms are way, way, way easier to use.

But there is a downside to this.

I was born in the 80s, so that means I was there, when internet went totally crazy with adoptions. During the early days of the internet (post-dial up), google wasn't even a thing yet. That's right, internet explorer was the shit (in a good way). But what I want to highlight is the fact that search result in those days, usually return back with write ups on blogs that is related to your search. Today, those first 2 pages of your search results are filled with mega corporations media outlet! As a consequences, good write ups that are in those wordpress type blogging sites end up at the 3rd or 4th (if not further) at best.

So that leaves us with crypto blogging sites. Where does it leaves us then? Probably at the end of the search - *Buzzer Sound* - WRONG! We end up nowhere in the search. For the sake of this write up, I used TheDesertLynx's post (2 years old) as a benchmark. In the search bar, I used the exact title, with the exact capital on each words and ":". The search result shows..*Drum-Roll* - Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. The post does not appear anywhere.

To be fair, I might searched it wrong. Who knows. Apparently SEO on google does not recognize us! Well, maybe this isn't as a big deal as I made it to be. But, to be fair, also, that how does this helps with adoption? Critically, none. So this is where it gets a little bit troubling for me, since this road is two way direction. I can't get the message out, and at the same time, people can't search mine or your posts. We could however, share the links to our post directly onto other social media platform and get the traffic from there. This does feel like the dialing up the internet in the past.

Most of crypto blogging site are not shown as well in the search results - except for medium to some extent. Maybe, just maybe, we are just too early. And Web3.0 just can't arrive here much sooner. But, it is exciting for sure.
