When Proof of Work Becomes Obsolete

Chances are that you might be an entrepreneur or businessman for some good years now, and the employee status is no longer a tag on your suit, but not all of us have come to this sort of financial freedom. Many still need to wake up every morning and get to an office, or any other workplace, for a monthly income.

When I tell some friends of mine once in a while that, if crypto plays the game nice in the upcoming years, I will be able to never again get myself a job, they almost always laugh at me. Proof of work is still equal to a monthly loan for most and in order to be able to live without working or owning a business you have to somehow win the lottery, have a sugar daddy if a woman, or get into some sort of crimes.

I'm not a criminal, and never was. I do see though the transition in making a living from a proof of work to a proof of attention and everyday life tokenization. That's what gives me perspective for a future work free life. Most of the inhabitants on this planet don't have this vision yet, and I get them, also considering myself lucky to have onboarded this train quit early.

It will all come at a cost though as I am not in the position of betting on the crypto markets every four years cycle with enough amounts to make it possible for a stress free bear market. I will have to somehow sell my attention, time and energy and efforts, to create content, to make a living in crypto, but I won't rely only on blogging for that.

At the moment, the only ways that I can earn crypto, and have the possibility to cash out all that crypto to fiat is through content creation and curation, mostly content creation. That's pretty much it, but in the not so distant future, tokenized attention will be a core ingredient of many future online activities.

The ways of earning crypto available to almost anyone on earth will explode in the years to come and Hive with its tribes is one good example of diversified available crypto income. There was once only blogging and curating, and having those two at hand the good old steemitans were able to earn cryptocurrencies and transform them into cash. Times have changed now and, in order to earn crypto, you can stake and earn crypto, gamble, play games, wrap LEO... and who knows what's to come.

One just needs to open his/her eyes and there's such a plethora of crypto earning opportunities. Yes, at current prices very few are able to make an income as such, and say that they no longer need to work, but we're still in the early stages of crypto and the tokenization of internet. The valuation of our earned tokens will increase over time and I'm not referring solely to bull markets.

After every bull market, the retrace level is usually higher from the point it took off from, so if HIVE is now just 14 cents and LEO 27, while BAT or any other attention token that can be earned online are just cents or pennies, those shall appreciate a lot in probably less than a year from now, and will probably never visit those levels again, climbing on higher levels with every cycle.

Some might argue that, as we've seen how XRP went quite low during this bear market and STEEM got to as low as 9 cents, after falling from the heavens, but what makes me feel bullish on the future perspective of such a work free life and internet money era is the exponential growth of the blockchain technology. Gradually we're shifting from the proof of work to proof of stake and as I mentioned above, to proof of attention as well.

My future work free life will for sure not rely only on blogging and the current social media platforms that I am active on, and tbh I don't know exactly where I'll get the extra money, but I know I will, I have the goal to do so and the vision to back my hopes. Few years from now I will be laughing at these friends though, still working for cash...

Thanks for attention,

Adrian
