According to a Bloomberg Intelligence analyst, a bitcoin-based exchange-traded fund (ETF) managed by the Canadian company Purpose Investments raised $421 million in the first two days after its launch.

The expert noted that for the US market, this figure is proportionally equivalent to $8 billion.

If the Purpose Bitcoin ETF keeps up the pace, it will become the largest exchange-traded fund in Canada in 20 days.

The company's application was approved by the regulator on February 11, 2021. The fund became the first bitcoin ETF registered in North America. Trading of its shares under the ticker BTCC on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) started on Thursday, February 18.

It is noteworthy that at the moment, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is considering applications for registration of bitcoin ETFs from Bitwise, VanEck and Valkyrie Digital Assets. And the regulator has not approved any of them.
