Axie Infinity, an Ethereum-based collectible game with PvP battles, is steadily becoming one of the more popular blockchain games available today.
Proof of this can be seen in the more than 100,000 unique NFTs, 10.7 million battles and total market sales of more than 3,833 ETH.
Of particular note is the recent sale of a highly unique Axie for 12 ETH, which values the in-game unit at nearly $2,300. This valuation is derived from the rare parts of the Axie, which carry a high value for breeding and battling and can yield a significant return on investment for the purchaser.

The Axie in question, “Sandy,” has three Mystic parts that were only obtainable during the game’s presale event (hence the Origin title). In general, parts can be Common, Rare, Ultra Rare or Legendary and an Axie’s Horns, Mouth, Back and Tail are tied to specific moves.
It’s been a big month for Axie Infinity. As we previously reported, the game recently joined Loom Network (LOOM), a blockchain ecosystem for games and social apps, as a network validator and partnered with Samsung to bring Axies to the Samsung Blockchain Wallet, which is available on the Samsung Galaxy S10.
