One Month Update in Cryptoland

My how time flies when you are having fun :)

It's a little over a month since I joined you here, and also joined you in Cryptoland. I have learned a lot, from the mechanics of how to do things, to understanding the technology better, and that the way individual crypto currencies in Altland have their focal points. I understand that I still don't know what I don't know, which feels vast (but still doesn't stop me from writing lol), and includes why people are buying and selling in the market and with individual coins. Eventually this will be helpful to know, and my sense is it's evolving with more long-term investors like myself and more institutional investors, as well as greater "real world" applications actually being used "out there".  Momentum trading will continue, as it does in the stock market, but as the technology and market matures this should be more the tail then the dog eventually. And regulatory issues? Yikes! But this is probably a testimony to where we are in the product cycle, and also I often feel best as we climb the proverbial "wall of worry" then when everyone "knows" that BTC is going to $100K this year.  These things tend to work themselves out, yet don't risk it all on things out of your control. There are no sure things.

I went with the diversified portfolio strategy, with many small holdings, and that has been fun as I often have something in the news or jumping 10% (or down 10%!), and benefited because Alts have outperformed BTC mightily in this recent period (I do not confuse luck with genius ;) .  BTC is the big dog in the market, but so far, so far, my dramatic underweight has worked out really well (again with very few dollars actually being impacted). Because of an article someone wrote here, I do see BTC as a place to reinvest profits (and remember to track your potential taxes, for at least in the U.S. it's fair to expect some legislative action to enhance enforcement of this to occur). I continue to be careful of chasing (including crypto newly added to Coinbase!) and watch out for falling knives-nothing wrong with letting them settle a bit before investing. That would include recent crypto that looks interesting to me like Braintrust and XYO. (And I can't believe it but I actually put a small amount in SHIB at the recommendation of an article here, as a small "lottery ticket" play-certainly can't recommend it from a fundamental standpoint, but those things can also change.  Part of why I'm here is to explore, learn and have fun).

I really get the sense that this is the future, a future beyond what we can even understand, and that will evolve in surprising and revolutionary ways. I personally don't view this as a "get rich quick" opportunity, though that may happen to a lucky few. Instead I am enjoying being part of a potential revolution in how finance occurs for sure, and more than likely in 20 years or less, how many thing operate in the world (perhaps similar to the impact of cell phones, the pc and the internet). Can you imagine the point where Blockchain is just another "of course" instead of some weird subculture? And I may be delusional here, but I see the potential impact of this technology to make a better world, a fairer world, a more efficient world. And no matter what your part in this current landscape you are contributing to this. For me, that puts a smile on my face.  And I remind myself there will be shakeouts, probably many with large volatility, and to not fall in love with a tree, but keep an eye on the whole forest.

Thank you all for your patience and support here, and sharing your wisdom, dreams and inspirations. I have grown to enjoy my daily sojourn through the articles here and our interactions through the comment section. You are fleshing out, and making real for me, this Alice in Wonderland landscape. May the Blockchain be with you, and may we enjoy splashing crypto on each other's articles, seeing this is the gift it is. (And don't forget to get out in nature each day-the original Blockchain! :)
