Hello, this is my second blog on public0x. My first introduction post was created almost a year ago.
I did not write anything else until now because, first, English is not my first language; and second, I was a complete noob with crypto back then. I have been tipping articles each day until some time in May. Massive tasks of my day job hit me from nowhere; but hey, Who's going to complain overtime when many people were laid off/furloughed during the pandemic, specially I was, and still am working at home.
Start
I entered my the crypto world with STEEM, before Hive has not split into her own entity; and quickly I found out about Publish0x. I was overwhelm by all the new knowledges I saw when I first browse through all the different coins/tokens display here. Only thing I knew of the bat was BAT, which I knew because of BRAVE browser.
From that point until May. I have made around $600 without knowing what staking was and ways to invest/trade cryptocurrencies. Hey, I wasn't thinking about replacing my day job with this. So, I felt pretty proud of myself as a noob.
What I have done
I didn't buy or power up my STEEM, made 7 cents in my first post here. How did I make $600 worth of crypto?
Brave browser did give me some good junk of tokens. Being an IT personnel, my recommendation on a secure web browser and potential cryptocurrency income has rewarded me a lot of referrals.
I also discovered another publishing platform Matters.news with LikeCoin. LikeCoin and the organization behind it, LikeCoin Foundation, is a non-profit in Hong Kong. Anybody can pick up LikeCoin plugin and install in their own WordPress, Medium, blogspot (serious question, does anything still use this?), etc. They don't need to be tied up with Matters.news or any specific platform. I was lazy, so I stayed on Matters.news.
I started writing there and quickly had my own community. The advantage of being bilingual... From the five months I was there. I have made almost 30K LIKE coins. With the price around 1.2 cents per coin, that is about approximately $300.
I played SPLINTERLANDS throughout the year of 2020. NodeJS + Splinterlands' API is a wonderful combination to let the game play with minimum attention.
What I should have done
I did not know passive income back then. With TRX I have collected from Splinterlands, I did not know I could vote super representatives for reward. Therefore, I wasted all the chances with my frozen tokens.
My Stellar Lumens invite on COINBASE Earn has zero count in records because I have not go all out to spread out any referral links.
Speaking of Coinbase Earn, I did not trade most of the earned tokens to BTC or ETH, almost all of them dropped their price. I should have attempted to make trade while they were hot.
What I will do
What I will do in 2021?
First, starting write here on Publish0x, and hopefully readers like it!
Instead solely making products (writing on STEEM/HIVE, Mastters.news, and Publish0x), learn how to invest. I'm not trying to make a living with cryptocurrencies. Therefore, I am not trying to spend tons of fiat currency to purchase the crypto ones. So I wouldn't be broke if I lose them.
I'm going to utilize what I have earned, trade/stake them and hopefully expand my portfolios.
And most importantly, have fun with crypto.
