The BAT team has strong supporters, one of the most notable being Brendan Eich, a well-known entrepreneur. Brendan built JavaScript and connected the Mozilla project to Firefox. The team was recommended by Zooko Wilcox, founder and CEO of Zcash, as well as Ankur Nandwani, COINBASE production manager. BAT is almost the only cryptocurrency project that focuses on online advertising. The only other company that generates decentralized ad exchanges is AdEx. The main difference between the two is that AdEx focuses on advertising (especially in videos), while BAT has a wider scope than advertising and includes legal content, publisher support, donations, and more.
In the idol-designed project, advertisers use smart contracts to send digital ads to users using a locked token. When a user sees ads, they receive a portion of the payment token. The basis of idol token work is based on the amount of attention of users.
