Bitcoin’s hash rate has far surpassed all-time high after much volatility this year that kept it within a range.
Now however it has taken off, reaching 143 exahashes per second in what suggests there has been a huge jump in new computing power.
Some believe it is because the Iranian Government or more precisely Iranian Thermal Power Plant Holding company, as we announced earlier, has now started the cryptocurrency mining process itself.
“The Necessary equipment has been installed in three power plants of Ramin, Neka, and Shahid Montazeri, and the auction documents will be uploaded on the SetadIran.ir website shortly,” Mohsen Tarztalab, the head of the company announced earlier.
Iranian energy companies have been serving crypto miners (No one knows their true identities. Because if you want to be a normal miner in Iranian society, getting a license here is a difficult task. It can be concluded that you have to have a lot of money, power, and position to be in this category.) since at least 2018, but this sounds more like a strategic exclusive energy service for miners.
Although as they announced their exact word was to sell electricity to miners to generate more revenue, and if I didn’t know any better I would believe them to be an intermediary in this transaction!
Anyway, the new source of income for the Iranian government is turning out to be Bitcoin Mining, and it probably wouldn’t change much for the real people in this matter.
However, given that the Iranian government is totalitarian and the entry of the Iranian capitalist system into this industry is probably not going to be beneficial for real miners and bitcoin enthusiasts (among ordinary people), but it is hoped that, at least for their own benefit, they will reduce the slander around digital currency (that has been created by them as well!),
And gradually pass laws that make it easier for ordinary miners to obtain cryptocurrencies (and not just Chinese miners who may have contracts with the government)
And these changes will benefit the people and as an old famous Persian expression: “ Even the hair of a bear is a trophy!”
