The launch of the new iPhone models will take place a month later than usual, as the coronavirus pandemic disrupted supply chains. But despite the delay, the event is highly anticipated and steeped in rumors.

Tech giant Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) has announced it will hold a second 2020 event on Tuesday, October 13 at 10:00 a.m. on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. During the event with the tagline “Hi, Speed”, Apple is likely to reveal its new iPhone lineup.

The event held online will mark Apple’s second product launch this year. Earlier in September, Apple announced a new iPad Air, refreshed entry-level iPad, and updated Apple Watches. The launch of the new iPhone models will take place a month later than usual, as the coronavirus pandemic disrupted supply chains. But despite the delay, the event is highly anticipated and steeped in rumors.

New iPhone 12 Lineup: What to Expect from Apple

Compared with the previous Apple event, the company’s second product launch will focus mostly on new iPhones. As rumors say, the iPhone 12 generation will be available in three sizes. The lineup will consist of the 5.4-inch iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. Notably, the 5.4-inch ?iPhone? will be the smallest ?iPhone? that Apple has released in years. Therefore, it could even be called the “?iPhone 12? mini.”

Further, all four iPhone models will feature edge-to-edge OLED displays with Face ID functionality and front-facing TrueDepth cameras. The standard models will use 12-megapixel ultra-wide and wide-angle cameras, while the Pro adds on a telephoto lens.

In addition, the new iPhone 12 models will probably support 5G networks. However, there are questions about the implementation of technology. Support for sub-6GHz bands is possible for all the models, but only some of them may provide high-speed mmWave support. Notably, 5G connected iPhones would put Apple in the same league as Google LLC (NASDAQ: GOOG), Motorola Solutions Inc (NYSE: MSI), Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX: 005930), Huawei, LG Electronics Inc (KRX: 066570), and others. Besides, they would significantly improve Apple’s digital services like Apple TV+.

Above all, Apple promises its new iPhone models will be more affordable than the previous ones.

Rumors also suggest that the company is approaching the introduction of other products. They include new over-ear headphones, a smaller HomePod, and a competitor to Tile’s location-tracking tags – AirTags. The latter can attach to items like wallets and keys, which allows users to track them right in the Find My app alongside iPhones, iPads, and Macs. When Apple will launch the products is not yet clear. But it is known that in November, Apple is planning to announce Macs with the company’s own custom processors.
