So far after dodging most crypto insolvencies outside of .4 eth left in blockfi's bankruptcy it seems nexo as well may be giving us an opportunity to jump ship before heading into potentially turbulent international waters.
While ive already pulled most everything that wasn't already grandfathered in with their earn program it seems it'd be wise to exit entirely before a potential run happens.
However i do wonder what they meant when stating they're "winding down US earn accounts" then go on to only reference the 8 states demanding them to cease and desist. Seemingly alluding and even stating other jurisdictions would be unaffected.
Other things I find odd were the co-founder was interviewed with fox or cnbc that afternoon and made no mention of it when asked about regulations and also went on to say for majority of existing US accounts, things will operate as normal prior to Feb 19th. I haven't done the requirements due diligence and perhaps neither has the youtubers reporting on it but is it possible the tweet was from a fake account.. which then got spread by all the ironic naysayers and now "truthtellers" that want to see everything burn since theirs did. Just seems odd that my nexo account hasn't had a single notification or newsfeed on the issue nor recieved any email. In the past, I've always been notified of upcoming changes. I'm fairly certain it's real and from nexo, just wish they weren't so vague.
I'll look into it further but am always skeptical. Of everything. Lmk if you have any further information or simply would like to discuss the crypto future. Because dex's and defi, while I love them, will never gain mainstream adoption. As well have their own pitfalls, much of which are the exact same as their counterparts. I'm not standing here saying cex's are great or even entirely necessary but the seemingly common portrayal is skewing into the idea that decentraliced protocols can't fail, mislead or be simply designed to rug.
