Sex Sells Crypto - Mass Adoption Via Porn?

Do repost and rate:

Early adopters, devs, and a colorful multitude of supporters of chains , projects and apps etc will do what they can to capitalise on this and many who spot opportunities created will make out like bandits as a result. What I'd like to draw attention to are thing that are obvious once said out loud. An analogy often used "cant see the wood for the trees". That's on the right track of how the conceptual idea of marrying porn to crypto has so far been missed. At least I am unaware of any such union.  Advance apologies if there exists some crypto-porn partnership  I missed.

The idea was sparked when a friend pointed out to me how the worlds 3rd biggest online porn network Pornhub, had dealt with the draconian kyc policy that forced individuals to used credit cards to buy porn services as part of the proof of age criteria.. in .reality a smokecsreen to simply gain extensive track n trace data on porn viewers habits and tastes. Something the vast majority of people would prefer to keep private. Pornhubs solution was simple and is I think exactly the sort of move a majority of businesses will make en masse in crypto adoption.

They stopped accepting fiat and in its place

will now accept a range of crypo as payment.

This got me thinking, porn and crypto, chalk and cheese, yin and yang, the two things fell into a perfect juxtapose pattern on multiple levels. You could compare the bodily sex of porn to the numeric math and equations of crypto, or the way presently less than one in a thousand random strangers could explain a blockchain or smart contract, but 98% would know of and likely visited the Pornhub site.

Long known but rarely considered stats and figures began emerging from their quiet memory caves. Like: Every second the industry makes over $3,000.  Every second, nearly 30,000,000 unique Internet users view .  Nearly 2.5 billion emails per day are pornographic, which is 8% of all emails.  Over 35% of all Internet downloads are pornographic.

These are not big numbers they a HUGE numbers. So give the proactive move by Pornhub, and that there are 2 larger porn giants online, and hundreds of smaller yet of significant traffic or member size, why am I not seeing crypto currencies, chains and apps wooing to marry anyone of these delectable porn brides. Get you crypto coin in use on a porn site and that coin will get noticed in the biggest way possible, by the general porn loving public. The more I thought about it, the giga volume of traffic the big porn networks handle crosses and includes all parts of every society. Crypto with a functional use expose to that human trafic may well be the catalyst that start the onboarding snowball we tritely call 'mass adoption'.

But it can go deeper.

The porn industry in general and specifically online has had decades of regulations attacks, building bridges, burning others, finding loopholes, sometimes fighting govts and vested interest groups for survival. Bring that experience into your next crypto project. Can we all spell the word formidable!  Now I haven't even touch on the biggest elephant in the room, that oldest of advertising terms;  SEX SELLS

This old as the hills saying has been shown to be false in many respects. But the visibility of sex in every form of advertising and communication continues. So if visibility is needed to encourage awareness of crypto, its really a no brainer to attempt an alliance with a partner who has visibility from being i the online sex industry.  One reason we don't see what would surely be a happy union between crypto and pornsites could be the sites builtin shyness factor.  Perhaps it is just very difficult to find the sites decision makers to begin with.  for example, the owner of one of the biggest porn sites in the world and no one knows who you are? The " Network" is a network of web 2.0 websites accessible through Mindgeek's PornMD search engine. Mindgeek (in montreal) owns and operates all of the websites in the Network, which includes GayTube, Peeperz, PornIQ (launched by ),  PornMD, RedTube Thumbzilla, Tube8, and YouPorn as well as adult film production companies Brazzers, Digital Playground, Men.com, Reality Kings, Sean Cody, and WhyNotBi.com, among others.  The founders are listed in wikki as you would expect, diligent digging would normally get you to a gatekeeper, but the porn industry appears to shield its CEOs from what would be considered normal communication avenues. Mindgeeks desire for privacy could also be an offshoot caused by the long battle with Cloudflare and others regarding copyright claims. Respecting that I won't identify them by name, the Pandora Papers did that for me.

But just knowing about the conflict with cloudflare and bittorrent pirates could spark a project aimed at fixing the issue.

Maybe I am the first to suggest porn as an avenue to fast-track mass adoption, but if in six months I see a crypto/porn wedding invite in my email I'll have no surprise at all. In advance I'll predict the first such union will go straight past the moon and have a virtual reception on mars, with astronomical financial benefits going to those involved.

I'll be on the lookout for such a pairing. Comment below if you know of any projects along these lines.
