China Blockchain Service Network Integrates Six Public Chain

Do repost and rate:

China is looking to become the world’s leading blockchain infrastructure provider hence the launch of its Blockchain Service Network. Previously, the Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) only supported private blockchains. Now opening its doors to six different public blockchains brings it one step closer to achieving its global adoption goals.

Starting from August 10, 2020, developers on the six blockchains will have access to BSN international data centers. Essentially, this means that they will be able to run nodes and design dapps using BSN bandwidth, data storage amongst several other resources.

The six public blockchain platforms stand to gain a lot from the integration. Henceforth, they will enjoy BSN affordable services as well as financial data from China’s UnionPay. BSN will also improve interoperability between the six public blockchain networks and other “Chinese enterprise blockchains”.

Speaking on the announcement, CEO of Beijing Red Date Technology, Yifan He pointed out that this is the first time a state-owned blockchain infrastructure is extending beyond the borders of China. Further adding that this isn’t just a milestone achievement for BSN, it is an achievement for all of China.

For the uninformed, Beijing Red Date Technology is one of the founding firms behind BSN.

Details of the Integration

Founded in April, China’s BSN has garnered the support of huge firms like China Mobile, Red Date, and China UnionPay. The Blockchain-based Service Network is governed by the State Information Center of China (SIC).

SIC is a major contributor to China’s current information security policies.

According to BSN, plans are in place to integrate nothing less than 10 public blockchains by the end of the year. Blockchains chosen will be based on important details like their products, user base, and technical experience.

According to Guoning Lu, co-founder of Nervos, BSN could provide blockchain developers with bespoke infrastructure as they will make use of its “standardized internet services”. The standardized development environment requires less time and money commitment. This is because developers need not bother about fine-tuning their frameworks to fit with BSN.

Also, developers with less than 2,000 daily requests will enjoy free services on BSN.

For now, all the newly integrated blockchains will first receive their mainnet and testnet nodes respectively. The connection between the nodes and the blockchains will be facilitated using their native API (Application Programming Interface). However, Ethereum and EOS developers have the option of connecting with nodes using dfuse. dfuse is a blockchain middleware firm known for its faster and easier connections. It currently boasts of being able to carry out 5,000 sustained/10,000 burst transactions per second on public blockchains.

For now, dapp developers can easily design and create on the six blockchains. However, mainland China residents can only still make use of enterprise blockchains.

China is primarily interested in being a major player in several emerging technologies like 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and of course Blockchain technology. Although the country hasn’t been receptive to the crypto space, it has, however, been a staunch supporter of blockchain technology.
